Southeast Asian Wrestling - News roundup - July 25th 2025
From title clashes to secret shows, Southeast Asian wrestling is heating up across the region. Singapore sets the pace with high-stakes drama at Ring of Rebirth and Grapplemax’s Pro Wrestling Festival 2, Malaysia gears up for APAC’s biggest card yet, Thailand unveils a brand-new championship, and the Philippines gets a dose of chaos with the return of Dr. Gore. Meanwhile in Vietnam, all eyes are on the upcoming VPW Rumble — with international surprises likely in store. Here’s everything you need to know.
Singapore
Ring of Rebirth: Red Light, Green Light – Preview
While most eyes in Singapore are on the National Stadium this Sunday, the real action is going down at Ring of Rebirth: Red Light, Green Light — and if you're not in town, don’t worry: it’s streaming live on Instagram.
Main Event – Grudge Tag Match
After getting jumped on his birthday, TED returns with the undefeated “Aerial Sniper” NYC to battle the cocky Legion of Total Anarchy: SPW Champion CK Vin and Riky Malek, with the chaotic Kentona in their corner.
For NYC and CK Vin, this one’s personal — and with family insults and SPW history in the mix, expect fireworks.
International Showdown – Mr. G Raj vs “Straight Sauce” John Day
Europe-tested and Singapore-spicy, John Day is back and slicker than ever. But he’s facing the brawling brute Mr. G Raj, who doesn’t care about Day’s international accolades — just breaking people.
First-time clash. High sauce. Higher stakes.
ROR Championship Tournament – Quarterfinal
The legendary Eurasian Dragon meets the masked wildcard Geylang Green — a man who just threw someone down the stairs. It’s heart vs chaos in a clash that could reshape the championship picture.
Grapplemax
Grapplemax is gearing up for Pro Wrestling Festival 2 this weekend. We recommend checking out the Kick to the Gut interview with Big Dave for some great insight into all the hard work behind the scenes.
One update: PWF 2 will now be held at the basketball court arena due to high demand, instead of the usual indoor hall. Don’t worry — the court has a solid roof! Read our preview here
After that, Grapplemax turns its focus to Slam & Savour — an all-day festival that sees the return of the infamous Grapplemax mats and none other than Dick Togo, who once stretched out a few early members on those very mats.
Expect a full day of action, food, drink, and events for the whole family.
Singapore Pro Wrestling
No major announcements from SPW this week regarding Heartland Havoc, but they continue to drop weekly Mayhem matches.
This week featured a pivotal turning point: RGT vs Emman Azman & Ho Ho Lun — a key chapter in the rise of the Real Global Threat.

Malaysia
The entire Malaysian wrestling scene is buzzing over the massive APAC Wrestling show coming up on August 30th.
Check out our recent card update for full match info and hype around this landmark event.
Following shortly after, keep an eye out for more details on MYPW X Grapplemax: Causeway Jam — updates are expected soon.

In a major update, the promotion has also revealed the creation of a second title: the Thailand Championship.
While details such as challengers or rules have yet to be announced, this move suggests the promotion may be preparing to run shows on a more regular basis.
SETUP Thailand – Under Pressure Preview
SETUP Thailand returns this weekend with Under Pressure, streaming live on the Soop app, which always brings an added level of excitement.
The promotion has drawn impressive numbers recently, with each of their last two shows pulling in around 2,000 viewers.

Philippines
FPW – Unfinished Business & Secret Show 4
FPW returns with Unfinished Business, their annual spectacular, live from Baked Studios on September 14. But first, they’ll run another Secret Show (4) on August 10 — though no matches have been announced just yet.
Dexcon Triple Header – Dr. Gore’s Return
We’ve got big updates for the Dexcon Triple Header (August 22–24) — and the headline news is that Dr. Gore is back in the Philippines!
Bakagaijin + Friends (Friday): Dr. Gore teams up with Patricia Ligaia to face Crystal & Robin Sane.
(Could Patricia’s new darker hair tone hint at this surprise alliance?)Meet & Greet Show (Saturday): Dr. Gore goes one-on-one with Fabio Makisig.
The Brawlpit (Sunday): Dr. Gore wraps up the weekend against St. John Martin.
Also announced for the Meet & Greet Show:
Jake De Leon vs Invisible John Cena — and yes, we thank the WWE legend for allegedly making time for Southeast Asia.
Live Music & Comic Crossover
At Bakagaijin + Friends, local music heroes Shirebound and Mox will perform live, adding even more energy to an already stacked weekend.
Meanwhile, PUSO Wrestling is crossing over into the world of comics at KOMIKON INDIEKET 2025!
Fans can meet both the comic and real-life versions of Super P, El Katipunero, Patricia Ligaia, Hakai Mateo, and Danny Zamora at their special booth.
Bakunawa Pro Wrestling
No new match updates from Bakunawa Pro Wrestling this week.
With both Bakunawa and FPW running on September 14, we hope fans find a way to support both — and make it a true landmark day for pro wrestling in the Philippines.

Vietnam
VPW – The Rumble Approaches
The VPW Rumble is fast approaching on August 17, and anticipation is building. So far, only one match has been announced — the Rumble itself — but more updates are expected soon.
While unconfirmed, there’s strong buzz that the event will feature international talent from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and possibly beyond.
Keep your eyes peeled — this could be one of Vietnam Pro Wrestling’s biggest nights yet.
