Dick Togo Returns to Grapplemax for Slam & Savour
When Grapplemax Pro Wrestling burst onto the Singapore scene in 2017, few could have predicted how far it would come. But behind the headlines and highlight reels, there’s one name who was instrumental in the early days of the promotion… Dick Togo.
A legend of Japanese pro wrestling and a world-traveled veteran of countless promotions — from Michinokou Pro to ECW to WWE to New Japan Pro Wrestling — Dick Togo’s influence on Southeast Asia’s wrestling growth, particularly in Singapore, has often flown under the radar.
Now, in 2025, Dick Togo is back — and Grapplemax is ready to celebrate this milestone the only way it knows how: with Singapore’s biggest, most vibrant pro wrestling festival to date.
A Full Day of Wrestling, Food, and Family Fun
On Saturday, 31 August, Grapplemax teams up with Timbre+ One North to present Slam & Savour, a spectacular all-day wrestling extravaganza blending hard-hitting action with fun, family-friendly entertainment.
The festival promises 6 hours of non-stop activities: live matches, workshops, live podcast segments, trading card exhibitions, comedy improv, Indian Clubs workouts, and delicious food options from Singapore’s favourite container food park.
And topping it all offl? The return of the man who helped lay the groundwork for Singapore’s wrestling future: Dick Togo.
But who will Dick Togo face? Will it be somoene new? Or an old foe. Last time he faced Jordan. Now known as Jinn Kai the martial artist would make a premium choice opponent.
Why This Matters
Dick Togo’s early involvement with Grapplemax wasn’t just symbolic. His knowledge, discipline, and passion for pro wrestling shaped the standards by which Grapplemax operates today. From the training room to the match layout, his fingerprints are all over the foundation that has allowed Singaporean wrestling to flourish.
Bringing him back isn’t just a booking. It’s a celebration of how far Singapore wrestling has come — and a thank you to one of the people who believed in its potential from the very beginning.
A Stacked Line-Up of Action
Fans attending Slam & Savour will get up close to the action as Grapplemax delivers its signature NO RING, NO ROPES, NO BARRIERS show — a uniquely intimate style where the matches unfold right in front of you.
Expect 6 exciting matches, two championships on the line (including the brand-new Grapplemax Rising Championship), top talents from Singapore’s thriving scene, international guests from Filipino Pro Wrestling (FPW), and of course, Dick Togo himself stepping back into a Singapore ring.
Keep your eyes peeled for which fantastic FPW athletes could face the best of Grapplemax.
Beyond Wrestling: A Festival for Everyone
This isn’t just a wrestling show. It’s a full-blown festival. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or introducing friends and family to wrestling for the first time, there’s something for everyone:
Interactive workouts with Asthras
Wrestling persona workshops with Larks Improv Theatre
Collectible card showcases by Wrestling Card Space
Live demos from the NWE Academy
Food, drink, prizes, and plenty of surprises along the way.
Join the Celebration
With fan-favourite accolades under its belt — including multiple KTTG Awards for Favourite Local Show, Rising Star, Best Feud, and Favourite Wrestler — Grapplemax has firmly established itself as Singapore’s premier pro wrestling promotion and a proud member of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Asia Pacific Federation.
Slam & Savour is the perfect moment to reflect on that journey, honour those who helped build it, and celebrate how Singapore wrestling continues to thrive.
Early Bird discounts are available until 24 August, and the SG60 promo code offers $6 off premium tickets until 10 August. Don’t wait — this is one wrestling festival you won’t want to miss.
