ZACK SABRE JR. SET FOR VPW'S BRAWL HALLOWS' EVE IN HO CHI MINH CITY
Vietnam Pro Wrestling have announced that Zack Sabre Jr. will appear at Brawl Hallows' Eve on Saturday 24 October at VAIB Studios in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. VPW describe him as the biggest international star ever to compete for the promotion, and on his record it is hard to argue with that.
Sabre Jr. is one of the most decorated international wrestlers working for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, a two-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of the 2024 G1 Climax. Zack Sabre Jr. is a veteran of the British wrestling scene, having trained in the renowned Hammerlock school as a young teenager.
He is known above all for his technical style, built on holds, joint locks and small, quick reversals rather than high-risk moves, and it is a style that tends to work well in a small venue where fans can see the detail.
The former IWGP World Champion is not a first-time visitor to Southeast Asia either, with three straight annual appearances for DEXCON, facing off against Jake De Leon in 2024, tagging with Mr Philippine Wrestling against El Phantasmo and Fabio Makisig in 2025 and most recently battling Ravena at Dakila 2 in May this year. He has also faced off against Aiden Rex in Singapore Pro Wrestling, and Shivam and a six-man tag against Real Global Threat in SETUP Thailand. This marks his first visit to Vietnam, however.
We think this is the clearest sign yet of how far VPW have come in a short time. At The Rumble earlier this year, IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji appeared and offered Ares a placement at the New Japan Dojo. Bringing in a current New Japan main event name only months later suggests that the relationship between the two promotions is a working one rather than a single guest appearance. For a scene that was running its first shows a few years ago, that is a big step.
At the time of writing, VPW have not announced who Sabre Jr. will face. We expect that match to be the headline of the card.
Brawl Hallows' Eve 2026 takes place on Saturday 24 October at VAIB Studios, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the meet-and-greet at the same time, and the first match starts at 7:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now at https://flip.vn/e/7z8t3bpr.
