Walker Stewart joins Vietnam Pro Wrestling for Best of 2025 Series

Vietnam Pro Wrestling announced yesterday a new partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling’s lead English commentator, Walker Stewart.

The collaboration will see Stewart team up with Xavier Patricks to provide English-language commentary on a series of matches from 2025, giving international audiences a new way to experience some of VPW’s standout bouts from the past year.

Walker Stewart brings significant experience to the role. In addition to his work with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, he has also called matches for AEW and has been behind the microphone for some of the biggest events in modern Japanese wrestling. Most notably, he called the sold-out Tokyo Dome main event at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 between Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada. Stewart was also recently voted the #2 TV Announcer in the 2025 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards, further cementing his reputation as one of the leading English-language commentators in the industry today.

Joining him on color commentary will be VPW’s own — and Saigon’s favorite foreigner — The X-Pat, Xavier Patricks. While many fans may know him primarily as an in-ring competitor, fewer realise that X-Pat actually served as Vietnam Pro Wrestling’s first English commentator during the Warhouse shows back in 2021. With both men bringing their own distinct experience and perspective, the pairing promises to add an extra layer of storytelling and energy to some of VPW’s biggest matches.

The series will begin this Saturday with the release of Guerrilla Games from Spring Bash 2025. The chaotic multi-man clash saw Team Sid — Sid Nguyen, Hy Draco, Slugshot Henry and Khoa Truong — face off against Vortex Rebellion, represented by Kira, KPY, Xumin Long and D. Austin. The match set the tone for what would go on to become an unforgettable year for Vietnam Pro Wrestling, packed with major rivalries and milestone moments.

While this is currently the only confirmed collaboration between Stewart and VPW, there is clear hope that the partnership could lead to larger projects in the future. Possibilities such as live English commentary at full VPW events remain firmly on the table as the promotion continues to expand its reach heading into 2026 and beyond.
