Vietnam Pro Wrestling finished up its calendar of events for the year with Immortal Glory. Once again, the event came from their home at VAIB Studios in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. As always, attendance was strong with over 250 fans in attendance, and the in-ring entertainment was supported by food from Eddie’s Diner and craft beer from Heart of Darkness.

The show felt like the start of a new chapter in VPW following the end of champion Rocky Huynh’s year-long reign and some fresh new faces from overseas.

Match 1: VPW Tag Team Championship - Vung Tau Experience (VTX) © vs. Jack and Cheese (JNC)

Jack N’ Cheese are an upcoming duo of fun babyfaces from Singapore Pro Wrestling made up of the large Jack Chong (BGJ) and CBK, which stands for Cheese Burger Kid.

VTX entered first, using Tom Petty’s "Love Is a Long Road" as a new entrance theme. This added an extra level to their characters, helping the burgeoning team stand out. Music hasn’t been a strong point for VPW in recent years, so this was a promising upgrade. Phong Tran and Damien Wolfe carried anti-burger signs to the ring, trying to hand them out to fans but were rejected by most. Since the duo used dirty tactics on The Classic Night and showed their true spoiled kid colors, they’ve been despised heels in VAIB Studios.

JNC entered to a loud pop, getting the fans riled up before the bell. Things kicked off with CBK getting the better of Wolfe for a while using technical wrestling, which the young powerhouse struggles with. From there, both teams swapped partners and mixed technical wrestling with high-flying spots to keep the match on equal footing.

The finish came when BGJ cleared one side of the ring of fans to throw Wolfe through the chairs. However, VTX double-teamed him, causing him to suffer from his own plans. Following this, VTX returned to the ring to double-team CBK and score the pinfall.

- Winner: Vung Tau Experience.

- Opinion: A strong match showcasing the guys from Singapore while keeping VTX hot for a future challenger. With most active tag teams being heels in VPW, it will be interesting to see who steps up to them next.

Before the next match, there was an announcement that Jimmy AG had suffered a broken arm and was out of tonight’s main event. A title match was assured by X-Pat, the ring announcer, but no replacement was announced yet.

Venom Shank’s music hit, and the duo entered the ring with aggression. Taking the mic, they talked about a conspiracy against them. Soon after, Ares’ music hit, and he and Phuong Nam walked to the ring with a thunderous ovation. Phuong Nam taunted the duo before Ares entered the ring, and Match 2 began.

Match 2: Ares vs. Venom Shank

Ares started strong, destroying both members of the team until the use of a kendo stick and double-team moves gave Venom Shank the upper hand. Ares, however, regained control and hit his modified powerslam for the decisive pinfall.

- Winner: Ares

- Opinion: Venom Shank was a fitting choice to suffer at Ares’ hands. The Ares/Phuong Nam pairing had shades of ’99 ECW Jeff Jones/Sid, decimating obnoxious heels to the fans’ delight. Venom Shank needs to regroup to remain relevant in the tag title picture.

Match 3: Rocky Huynh vs. British Horror

This match had online buildup showing The British Horror (BH) taunting Rocky Huynh (RH) after his title loss at the last show.

BH entered first, accompanied by Princess Death and three masked disciples in black cloaks. Rocky followed, receiving a strong fan reaction.

The match featured a mix of catch moves, power moves, and ground holds. Princess Death and the disciples provided intermittent distractions, allowing BH to gain the upper hand and eventually score the pinfall with a handful of tights. Following the match, Rocky stormed out through the side exit without acknowledging the fans, which was very unusual behavior for him.

- Winner: The British Horror

- Opinion: This match felt like the start of a series. A more physical grudge match between the two would be exciting in 2025. Rocky’s frustrations should develop further in the coming months.

Match 4: Bobby vs. G Sharpe

G Sharpe, hailing from California, brought high expectations with his tour of Asia. He entered with an adapted Street Fighter II entrance video, which delighted aging millennial fans.

The match began with G Sharpe dominating Bobby, showcasing an aggressive wrestling style. The highlight was a running knee off the ring apron to Bobby’s face on the floor. Bobby managed reversals, including a strong sit-out bomb, and surprised G Sharpe with a sudden pinfall by capitalizing on a weight advantage.

- Winner: Bobby

- Opinion: The pairing told a captivating story, blending discomfort and joy. G Sharpe’s aggression was impressive, and a potential match against Ares would be a dream contest.

Match 5: Sid Nguyen and Khoa Truong vs. Vortex Rebellion

This match followed Khoa Truong’s year-long redemption arc and Sid Nguyen’s save from a triple-team attack by Vortex Rebellion (VR) at the last show.

The match mixed 3-on-2 odds with traditional wrestling and dives to the outside. Near the end, a masked figure entered the ring, attacking Khoa Truong and helping VR secure the win. The masked man revealed himself as Xumin Long, who had joined VR after being humiliated by Jimmy AG at the last show.

- Winner: Vortex Rebellion

- Opinion: A solid contest with VR gaining new momentum through Xumin Long’s addition. Their ranks are poised for a resurgence in 2025.

Match 6: VPW Openweight Championship - Hy Draco © vs. Xumin Long

High-flying action took center stage as Hy Draco defended against Xumin Long. After a dive to the outside, Draco returned to the ring and delivered his signature top-rope elbow for the decisive win.

- Winner: Hy Draco

- Opinion: This impromptu main event allowed Hy Draco to have his planned first title match without disappointing fans. It struck a balance between excitement and realism, akin to a strong TV-level title defense.
