Vietnam Pro Wrestling Saigon Slam Jam 2026 Preview – Full Match Card & Predictions

Vietnam Pro Wrestling Returns with Saigon Slam Jam

Vietnam Pro Wrestling returns this coming Saturday with their next major show of the year, Saigon Slam Jam.

Saigon Slam Jam is VPW’s second major event of the year and one of the promotion’s flagship shows.

You might notice that the typical name for the second major show of the year has a slightly different ring to it. That’s because Vietnam Pro Wrestling has moved to a new venue for this show—much to this writer’s chagrin (for clarity, I live five minutes from VAIB Studios). However, District 2 has some major VPW supporters and, with this being an outdoor show, it won’t be long until they come back home.

This is not a studio show. This is a full outdoor, sports arena, WrestleMania-style event. With up to 1,000 fans expected, top names from across Southeast Asia, and a stacked card of eight matches, there’s plenty to get through.

Full Match Card and Predictions

Tag Team Match: Wenbin & Sunny Z vs Vortex Rebellion (Kira & D. Austin)

A match without deep history, but one that crosses borders—from Southeast Asia to Vietnam’s northern neighbour. Opposing the veteran duo of the wily, manipulative Kira and powerhouse D. Austin are Thailand’s Sunny Z and Chinese influencer Wenbin.

Fun-loving Sunny Z is no stranger to these shores. One of the most well-travelled wrestlers in the region, he has competed across Southeast Asia against top talent. He is also behind Paradise Sports Entertainment, the only Southeast Asian promotion to run shows across three countries—Thailand, China and Cambodia in recent years. Despite his lighter persona, he remains a dangerous athlete and multiple-time PSE Champion as well as MKW Tag Team Champion.

Wenbin, meanwhile, draws over a million monthly social media views and has become a serious competitor on the Chinese wrestling scene, holding multiple championships in KOPW. A rising name with clear upside.

But with a veteran team like Vortex Rebellion across from them, it won’t be easy. Both Kira and D. Austin have been on a losing run since mid-last year and will be looking to turn frustration into results.

Expect hard strikes alongside some highly entertaining moments.

SEA Wrestling Prediction: Vortex Rebellion

Blindfold Match: Khoa Truong vs Dokuga

A new stipulation for VPW and something rarely seen in wrestling history—never before in mainland Asia. The question is how we got here.

At the “Choose Your Fate” match at Spring Stampede, Dokuga attempted to use his infamous green mist on Khoa. Instead, Khoa countered in bizarre fashion, only for the mist to end up blinding his own ally Slugshot Henry.

Khoa secured the win, but Dokuga—now fully focused on singles competition—wants revenge.

In response, Khoa has chosen a blindfold match. Both men will have their vision removed and be forced to rely on instinct and sound alone.

Expect spectacle, unpredictability, and the possibility of outside involvement given the lingering bad blood.

SEA Wrestling Prediction: Khoa Truong narrowly escapes with the win due to a mistake from Dokuga.

Fatal 4-Way Match: Damien Wolfe vs An D vs Jimmy AG vs Ronnie El Rapido

A major test for Ronnie El Rapido. The newcomer finds himself against three founding members of the Saigon Pro Wrestling Club—each a former champion and each desperate.

For Jimmy AG, An D, and Damien Wolfe, this feels like a last chance. None of the three have secured a win in recent months, and frustration is clearly building.

Ronnie, meanwhile, is still chasing a defining victory on a main card. He has picked up a lesser-known three-way win earlier this year, but this is a different level entirely. His goal is simple: to have his hand raised in front of the VPW crowd.

The issue is that only one man can win—and the other three are unlikely to allow a newcomer to leapfrog them into contention.

SEA Wrestling Prediction: We’re going to put our money on Jimmy AG in this one. He seems to want it the most.

International Lucha Showcase Match: Xiumin Long vs Cheeseburger Kid

The masked men clashes continue with this epic main event level clash between Vietnam’s first luchador, Xiumin Long, a powerhouse of a high flyer and multiple time tag champion taking on one of the most in demand wrestlers in the region right now CBK. Part of the Jack N’ Cheese tandem, he makes his third appearance in Vietnam Pro Wrestling, this time as a solo star.

CBK has already wrestled the entire SEA circuit in his short career and was one of the few to hit every current stop in 2025 with appearances in VPW, SETUP Thailand, APAC (Malaysia), DEXCON (Philippines) and his home turf of Singapore Pro Wrestling.

Also a former tag team champion, he looks to make a statement as the most acclaimed luchadore in Southeast Asia. This one will be all about power vs speed as the lighter CBK is likely to have the agility advantage.

Do not take your eyes off the ring, for you might miss something spectacular.

SEA Wrestling Prediction: Xiumin Long has the deadlier finisher in the package piledriver. He hits that and job done.

Strong Style Match: KPY vs SPD

This might just be the shortest spelt match in history. It’s the battle of the anagrams. Jokes aside, local rising star KPY wants to flex his muscles and demonstrate his improving strong style wrestling abilities. After taking out veterans such as Kira and Jimmy AG, he is now looking overseas for his next challenger.

In an unpredicted move, while attending Grapplemax’s NWE Open House event a few weeks ago, VPW representatives were approached by none other than Grapplemax’s Openweight Champion SPD to accept the challenge of KPY.

Who is Grapplemax and Who is SPD?

We’re sure you’ve heard of Singapore Pro Wresting, the longest running professional wrestling promotion in Singapore. Countless stars have come to Vietnam from the promotion - Mighty Mighty, Jack N’ Cheese, Alexis Lee, The Statement and Aiden Rex to name a few.

But Singapore has more than one royal…wait that’s not it. Singapore has more than one wrestling promotion. Grapplemax have been running shows since 2017 and started very much in the same vein as Vietnam Pro Wrestling. Training wrestlers under guidance of Japanese veterans on mats. These days the promotion has grown to run monthly shows across Singapore and begun producing some of the most promising young wrestlers in the region.

At the top of Grapplemax food chain stands openweight champion SPD, an over ten year veteran of the Southeast Asia scene who overcame physical and mental odds last November to raise Grapplemax’s Openweight championship. Known for his own strong style techniques. His experience alone might be enough to down KPY’s dream of racking up some international wins before he can walk the same path as his peer Ares. But KPY needs to watch out for not only SPD’s strong style move but a deadly array of counters and a huge amount of fighting spirit. Oh and watch out for one heck of a stunner.

Prediction - SPD gets the win with a crafty counter.

Football Field Fight: Team VPW (Meteor Kid & The Classic Night) vs Real Global Threat (The Statement, Shivam & Jake De Leon)

This all star, anything goes six man tag has been bubbling under the surface for almost a year now. You see, ever since Shivam founded the Real Global Threat a year ago in Bangkok, he had a goal to find a member in every corner of Southeast Asia to fill the ranks of RGT, creating a superteam of the region's best to elevate and control the scene. While other nations saw a signup occur quickly, Vietnam never faltered.

Even during Da Nang’s Pro Wrestling Summit, attended by Shivam and The Statement, a way into VPW could not be found.

Then the challenges came, first Jake De Leon went up against new champion Ares and fell, December saw The Statement Adruew Tang was defeated in December. While this happened, Shivam made his pitch to VPW management but according to him went unanswered.

Shivam then took matters into his own hands and arrived on the scene at VPW Spring Bash back in March. Making a statement by assaulting Billy and Bobby before launching a tirade at VPW officials and showing allegiance with Juicy Meat.

However, since then things have escalated even more with Shivam and Ares facing off in a heated war in Bangkok this past Sunday. With Shivam getting the upper hand that night, he is walking in feeling powerful and ready to embarrass Vietnam Pro Wrestling.

Due to contractual obligations in Singapore and Japan, both Miles Karu and Da Butcherman are unable to attend Saigon Slam Jam so Shivam has looked to his own allies to tackle Team VPW.

Expect absolutely no mercy in this match. It is more than just a wrestling match, this is going to be a brawl metaphorically across the whole of Southeast Asia and physically could spread across the entirety of Ho Chi Minh City.

RGT are here to put Vietnam Pro Wrestling back in what they see as it’s place, back in the order they wish to create. But three of the biggest hearts in Vietnamese wrestling are looking to show the bullies that nothing has stopped them yet and nothing will do.

SEA Wrestling Prediction: As a proud resident of Vietnam for almost 15 years, I cannot back the outsiders.

VPW Women’s Championship Match: Viva Van (c) vs Chelsea Marie

On paper, this might just look like a contest between two of Southeast Asia’s most prominent female competitors for the sake of it. But you would be wrong. This match is about opportunity, revenge and dominance. Not just as both consider themselves “Vixen’s”

We last saw the VPW Women’s Champion in the main event of Vietnamania where she defeated Chelsea Marie’s Dexcon bestie Crystal in a match where the challenge aggravated an ongoing foot injury in the process. Despite her character sometimes making controversial choices throughout the past couple of years, Chelsea Marie sticks by her friends and she will not have forgotten Vietnamania.

Marie also had a rather memorable 2025 with epic contests against now DEXCON Women’s Champion Joya before continuing the classics with current CWE Vixen’s champion Super P and SPW Queen of Asia Champion Alexis Lee. Yet, despite winning SEA Wrestling’s Filipino Women’s Wrestler of the year, one thing escapes Chelsea and that’s championship gold. Despite the dominance these opportunities escape her. Viva has exactly what she wants.

On the other hand, ever since winning the VPW Women’s Championship, it feels like Southeast Asia has been gunning for Viva Van who spent the end of last year not enjoying the holiday spirit but battling the very best of the region's women’s division. Even back home in the USA she has had to fend off challenges from the likes of Alexis Lee. For Viva Van, defeating Chelsea Marie is a reminder to the rest of the region that she is on top.

SEA Wrestling Prediction: We’re going to side with Chelsea Marie on this one. Hugely underrated and underestimated. It could be time to see a new VPW Women’s Champion.

Main Event: Vietnam Pro Wrestling Championship Fatal 4-Way Match-Ares (c) vs Hy Draco vs Rocky Huynh vs The British Horror

This really is what the world has come to and don’t say we didn’t warn you. Four men, the backbone of Vietnam’s main event scene, finally battle it out to determine the championship once and for all. This one is months in the making.

This match might have the most history in Vietrnam Pro Wrestling since Rocky and Sid settled the score at Ultimate Collision 2024. Let’s take a look back in time

2022 - Ares and Hy Draco both debut after training under Rocky himself.

2023 - Both Ares and Hy Draco start going to war with each other and Rocky early in the year. Ares wins his first championship but underestimates Rocky and loses it a month later. The British Horror arrives in VPW and begins to form The Cult.

2024- Ares and Hy Draco meet early on as Phuong Nam betrays the Saigon Mamba to align with The Unstoppable Force. Draco eliminates Ares and Rocky to win the rumble. Ares destroys Rocky to lift the VPW Championship but is dethroned the same night by Hy Draco in a huge shock. The British Horror begins his conflict with Rocky where he really got in The Founder’s head.

2025 - Draco and Ares headline Ho Tram Slam. The British Horror shaves Rocky’s head sending him into madness. Horror defeats Draco to become champion thanks to Rocky. Rocky throws a fireball in Draco’s face sending him out for months. Ares defeats British Horror to become a three time champion. Rocky wins the Sure Shot Rumble.

In recent times, things began at Vietnamania when The Rocky Horror Show attacked Ares following his championship defence. His reign was only saved by a returning Hy Draco. But these two cannot co-exist, they have a distaste for each other like no other pairing. So despite the stipulation being that Rocky Horror should retain at Spring Bash meaning a three way. Matchmakers have added Draco to settle things once and for all.

British Horror and Rocky Huynh should have the advantage here as a cohesive unit, but how long are the two untrustworthy wrestlers in Vietnam going to coexist with a championship on the line. No man is going to back down and it’s one fall to a finish. Expect drama, expect suspense, expect bodies flying through the air. It has come down to this and there is only one winner.

SEA Wrestling Prediction: We’re going with the champ. Ares pins one of Rocky Horror to settle the score.

Final Thoughts

This is Vietnam Pro Wrestling’s biggest show to date—an outdoor spectacle with a stacked card and major implications across the roster. If you’ve been following VPW, this is essential viewing. If you haven’t, this is the show to start with. Tickets are still available.
