Vietnam Pro Wrestling - Ho Tram Slam Announced - Full Match Card
Vietnam Pro Wrestling has added a new show to its 2025 calendar — its first independently promoted event outside Ho Chi Minh City: Ho Tram Slam.
Taking place in the prestigious Grand Ballroom of the Ho Tram Grand Casino & Hotel, VPW officials have gone all out to make the first show in this prestigious venue an absolutely stacked affair.
Announced Matches for Ho Tram Slam
The Ho Tram Breakfast Buffet Triple Threat – Xumin Long vs. Rocky Huynh vs. “Big” Bobby
This match is a buffet-like mix of wrestling styles from three of Vietnam’s homegrown wrestlers. Xumin Long brings his high-flying luchador skill to compete against Rocky Huynh’s experience and technical prowess, while Bobby of the Classic Night has the clear strength and power advantage.
Rocky will also be battling his nerves after losing his hair against The British Horror in his last match, so this could be an opportunity for two young, up-and-coming stars to make a bold statement.
Not only that, but the founder of VPW enters this match alone, while both competitors may have backup—with Bobby bringing tag team partners Billy and the despicable Vortex Rebellion seconding Xumin Long.
International Showdown – “The Prince of Wrestling” Sid Nguyen vs. “The British Horror”
Things have been going well for The British Horror this year so far, and with his championship match looming on April 19 at Saigon Slam, he would love nothing more than to humiliate Sid Nguyen—Rocky’s best friend—in the run-up to his match for the title.
On the other side, this is Sid’s opportunity to avenge his friend's three losses (two matches and one head of hair) against Horror. Some have also suggested this could finally be the chance for Sid to move out of Rocky’s shadow after failing to beat his friend for the title last year.
No matter who wins this match, there’s bound to be big repercussions for Saigon Slam.
A Clash of Styles – Sunny Z vs. “The Technical Marvel” Aiden Rex
You can’t get much more different in terms of personal mantras than Sunny Z and Aiden Rex. One man (Sunny Z) lives for the good times—he takes risks and follows his heart in everything he does. This has made the Paradise Sports Entertainment owner beloved across Southeast Asia and his homeland of China by fans.
Rex, on the other hand, has become somewhat of a cold, calculated technician in the ring over the last few months. Turning his back on the fans in Singapore and siding with the evil powers that be in SPW, The Technical Marvel is out to end a recent losing streak against international talents (Ares at VPW Spring Bash and Dragon Dia at Unchained).
Can Rex use Sunny Z as a springboard to a better win/loss record?
What we do know is this could easily be a match of the night from these two talented fighters.
Naturally Juicy – The Juicy Boyz vs. The Natural Classics
Malaysia’s top tag team are back in Vietnam after a year, and they’ll be hoping to right some wrongs.
Vietnam hasn’t been kind to Miles Karu and Wonderboy so far. Last year at Spring Bash, they lost to Venom Shank in a tag team title match. Then, in October, Miles Karu was pinned by The British Horror in a VPW contract match.
Their opponents, meanwhile, have never won a match in VPW either and are certainly looking to use The Juicy Boyz as a warm-up before they do what they’ve been contracted to at Saigon Slam: dismantle the Classic Night lads for Phuong Nam.
The Juicy Boyz do have some momentum behind them after winning the SPW Tag Team Championships last year, while Karu earned a strong victory at Grapplemax Causeway Jam.
However, they are going up against arguably Australia’s hottest tag team and top duo prospect in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
One question to be answered is which Juicy Boyz will enter the VPW ring in Ho Tram—the fun-loving, clean-cut good guys of Malaysia Pro Wrestling, or the obnoxious pair that taunt the fans in Singapore, use dirty tactics, and behave in a way that would embarrass their families.
Another thing to consider for the Classics will be if they bring backup in Wonderboy’s friend Poppy Shae. Often paired together and seen together inside and outside the ring, this femme fatale could be the decider in the contest.
The Rematch of the Year: VPW Openweight Championship – Hy Draco (c) vs. “The Unstoppable Force” Ares (w/ Phuong Nam)
After a stellar year of dismantling opponents, Ares’ 2024 was ruined by the lightning-quick Hy Draco beating him for the title mere seconds after the challenger on this night had taken it away from Rocky Huynh.
It was on that night that Hy Draco used Ares’ hot-headedness to his advantage to get the win. Now, after long negotiations from Phuong Nam on behalf of his client, Ares gets another shot. But the question is: can he keep his cool to avoid Hy Draco’s high-flying arsenal from getting the better of him?
This match is as open as they get, and the only way you’ll know for sure is to be there on the night!
One other question remains open: what happens if Ares picks up the win? Will the championship match at Saigon Slam change to Ares vs. Horror? Will it become a three-way dance, or will one of Hy Draco and Horror have to wait for a later opportunity?
