Vietnam Pro Wrestling – Brawl Hallow’s Eve Preview

Vietnam Pro Wrestling returns this Saturday with one of its most popular annual shows — Brawl Hallow’s Eve. More than just a wrestling event, it’s also the biggest costume party of the year in Southeast Asia, where fans young and old dress up as their favorite wrestlers or characters and join in the fun.

While the costumes and celebrations will light up the night outside the ring, inside the ropes it’s shaping up to be one of VPW’s most stacked and unpredictable cards yet, featuring several truly frightening pairings ready to take over VAIB Studio.

Let’s take a look at the six matches set for this year’s fright night and the stories that brought us here.

Backstory

To understand this eerie night’s matchups, we need to rewind to Saigon Slam in April. At that event, Rocky Huynh betrayed then-champion Hy Draco, costing him the VPW title to The British Horror and forming the unholy superteam “The Rocky Horror Show” with his former rival.

A month later at Ultimate Collision, Ares overcame both men to capture the VPW Openweight Championship, standing tall as Vietnam’s top champion. At the most recent event, The Rumble, Rocky earned the Sure Shot Contract, promising to use it for a tag title opportunity. However, before that, he and his monstrous partner inserted themselves into the feud between Khoa Truong and Henry, after the two eliminated one another from the rumble match.

Meanwhile, the new champion Ares found himself face-to-face with Singapore’s most dangerous competitor — current SPW Southeast Asia Champion Da Butcherman — leading to a heated brawl at ringside that set up a dream collision.

Earlier this year also saw the collapse of the original Vortex Rebellion. After KPY failed to defeat Sid Nguyen, Kira forced him into a loser leaves the group match against Xumin Long, which he lost, getting booted from the faction. Returning just in time to even the odds was VPW original An D, who cleared house and painted a target on Vortex Rebellion’s back.

Now, at Brawl Hallow’s Eve, these intertwined rivalries come to a head.

Bubble Tea Brawl – Miles Karu (MYPW) vs Damien “The Despicable” Wolf

What happened to Miles Karu? Just last year, The Juicy Boyz were the talk of the town — all smiles, catchy tunes, and high-flying energy. But things started to sour around Ho Tram Slam. Underappreciated for their effort against The Natural Classics, and later booed by fans when facing national favorites The Classic Night, Miles developed a growing chip on his shoulder. Like his partner, he’s now all about himself — and proudly all about Malaysia.

That chip became an obsession at The Rumble — an obsession with punishing Vietnam Pro Wrestling’s fans and roster. Aligning with Da Butcherman and Jake De Leon, Karu began orchestrating brutal three-on-one assaults on VPW’s top names. One major victim was Phong Tran, who, according to his partner, is now sidelined indefinitely.

These actions didn’t sit well with Damien “The Despicable” Wolf, who has now challenged Karu to an unexpected specialty bout — a Bubble Tea Brawl.

Exactly what this entails remains to be seen, but two things are certain: Miles Karu and food have never mixed well inside a wrestling ring, and Damien can be one of VPW’s most dangerous competitors when he flips the switch.

Far from the fun-loving, boba-chugging big man of old, this could be the night a darker, more ruthless version of the former VPW Openweight Champion returns — turning him into Miles Karu’s worst nightmare.

KPY vs Kira

It all comes down to this — one-on-one, man-to-man.

Earlier this year, the original Vortex Rebellion crumbled. After KPY failed to defeat Sid Nguyen, Kira forced him into a loser leaves the group match against Xumin Long, which ended with KPY’s unceremonious expulsion.

But KPY wasn’t done. Regaining confidence with a big triple threat victory over VPW founders Rocky and Sid, the young star has now challenged Kira himself. Their clash at Brawl Hallow’s Eve promises to be a personal war — a chance for KPY to finally put the past behind him and begin his long road toward redemption.

An D vs Xumin Long (w/ D. Austin)

Since returning to VPW at Ultimate Collision, An D has had his sights firmly set on his former protégés — the ones he never truly got to mold because of injury. After watching Kira and Xumin Long wreak havoc and disrespect VPW’s legacy, An D struck back at The Rumble, ensuring they lost the VPW Tag Team Titles and failed to claim the Sure Shot Contract.

Now, a furious Kira has sent his top soldier, Xumin Long, accompanied by D. Austin, to finish the job. It’s a battle of generations: VPW’s first luchador versus the returning National Treasure, who’s looking to prove that the foundation of VPW still stands strong.xt here...

VPW Tag Team Championship

The Classic Night (Billy & Bobby) vs Venom Shank (Rensho & Dokuga)

Two of Vietnam’s best tag teams collide once again for the VPW Tag Team Titles at Brawl Hallow’s Eve, marking their third meeting.

At The Rumble, Venom Shank ambushed the newly crowned champions with vicious kendo stick attacks, leaving Billy and Bobby battered and bruised. In the aftermath, the twins accused their rivals of disrespecting tag team wrestling and vowed to dethrone them in this third encounter.

But The Classic Night have been underestimated before. Time and again, they’ve fought through adversity, proving that no team can match their chemistry and relentless work ethic. Will Venom Shank’s aggression finally pay off, or will The Classic Night’s resilience keep them on top?

Khoa Truong & Henry vs “The Rocky Horror Show” (The British Horror & Rocky Huynh)

At The Rumble, Rocky Huynh enjoyed his best night in years, winning the event’s namesake match even without his monstrous ally, The British Horror. Meanwhile, longtime friends Khoa Truong and Henry saw their gold dreams cut short after eliminating each other in a miscommunication.

Their frustrations boiled over into a heated confrontation — only to be interrupted by The Founder, who threw down the challenge for Brawl Hallow’s Eve: Khoa and Henry must team up against the united Rocky Horror Show.

It’s your classic “can they coexist?” story — two friends on the verge of collapse forced to work together against one of the most fearsome duos in Southeast Asia.

VPW Openweight Championship

Ares (c) vs Da Butcherman (SPW Southeast Asia Champion)

This is it — the Southeast Asian dream match. Two of the most powerful men in the region collide for the first time, born out of their explosive confrontation at The Rumble.

On one side stands Da Butcherman, the reigning SPW Southeast Asia Champion, closing in on a year-long title reign. He’s already turned back world-class opponents like Irie, Shivam, Cannon, and De Leon, and most recently put Sid Nguyen on the shelf.

Across from him is Ares, the unstoppable VPW Openweight Champion and self-proclaimed SEA Monster. Over the last three years, he’s steamrolled a line of international challengers — few of whom have dared to return for a rematch.

It’s the immovable object versus the unstoppable force — a collision that fans across the region have dreamed of. Who will stand tall when the dust settles at Brawl Hallow’s Eve?

Brawl Hallow’s Eve isn’t just another VPW event — it’s a showcase of Southeast Asia’s most creative, chaotic, and competitive wrestling. Between the wild costumes, emotional rivalries, and international showdowns, this Halloween spectacle promises to be one of the most unforgettable nights in VPW history.

Be there at VAIB Studio this Saturday — if you dare.
