The Women of SEA Wrestling Head to Japan for Golden Week Showdowns
Southeast Asia’s top women’s wrestlers are set to showcase their talent on one of the world’s biggest joshi stages—Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling—as SEA Wrestling invades Japan this Golden Week!
Representing the region are:
Matcha (Thailand)
Alexis Lee (Singapore)
Noir Phoenix Diana (Malaysia)
Together, they form TEAM SEA and will wrestle in a major 6-Woman Tag on May 3 against TEAM TJPW (Mizuki, Arisu Endo, Pom Harajuku) at Saitama Kasukabe Fureai Cube.
Then on May 5 in Osaka, Matcha & Alexis Lee—known as SEA STORM—will challenge Kyoraku Kyomei (Hyper Misao & Shoko Nakajima) for the Princess Tag Team Championships in the main event.
Also on May 5, Noir Phoenix Diana will challenge Raku for the SETUP All Asia Women’s Title—a belt currently defended across multiple SEA promotions. The winner will defend the championship at SETUP EP.22: The Fallen Kingdom later this month.
Viva Van Challenges for the VPW Women’s Title
Also on the horizon: the VPW Women’s Championship will be defended against none other than Viva Van, the Vietnamese-American AEW star and wrestling icon. The match marks a historic moment as one of Vietnam’s most recognizable talents returns to the region to compete for its top women's prize.VPW Watch Party in Saigon!
Fans in Vietnam can join a live watch party May 3rd at Saigon Craft (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) to witness the action together. Come through and support the women of SEA wrestling while enjoying great food, drinks, and community vibes!
Patrica Ligaia to Debut in Japan with Ice Ribbon
The Philippines’ own “Puso Sweetheart,” Patrica Ligaia, is set to make her Japanese debut on April 27 with Ice Ribbon, taking on Yappy in what promises to be a fast-paced, emotional clash of SEA pride and international respect.
As a member of the Superfriends, Ligaia has become a fan favorite with her fighting spirit, passion, and heart. Now, she brings that energy to Japan, marking another milestone for Filipino wrestling on the world stage.
