Southeast Asian Pro Wrestling News Roundup – 17th July 2025
A lot is happening this week in the Southeast Asian wrestling scene once again as we head into the second half of July. It’s an exciting time in the region, with at least one show somewhere every week and wrestlers flying in to compete with the best in every territory.

Malaysia – Causeway Jam Announced, Slamfest Tickets on Sale, Shaukat Issues Global Challenge and is answered by Raj Dhesi
Malaysia Pro Wrestling announced at the end of Full Throttle last weekend that their next show will be the return leg of the critically acclaimed Causeway Jam. For those unaware, the show features MYPW’s finest taking on the best from Singapore’s Grapplemax promotion in a series of matches to earn the Causeway Jam Cup.
No matches have been announced yet, although notably, a few Grapplemax stars were in attendance at Full Throttle, including Kelvin and Sarah Coldheart, though they did not participate. Well… there was that masked man?
APAC Wrestling has announced that tickets for Slam Fest, their biggest-ever show, will go on sale this Saturday (19th). The second match has also been revealed: Shaukat has issued a global challenge and it has been answered by someone who has been to the absolute top of the professional wrestling mountain in Raj Dhesi formally known as Jinder Mahall. This is a huge matchup to occure in Southeast Asia and marks the first ever former WWE

Philippines – Pinay Wrestler is All Elite, Yappy Visits Home, Dakila Coming Soon
This week, the most prominent news relates to the fantastic Pinay wrestlers who continue to blaze the trail and hoist the flag for Southeast Asian wrestling worldwide. Nina, who previously competed in PWR and FPW before moving to the USA, has apparently signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling, adding even more Southeast Asian representation to the roster. CORRECTION: Nina was an extra for recent AEW events but has not signed a contract. We would however expect this talented youngster to do so in the future.
Additionally, Yappy recently visited the Brawlpit and supported a training session. She will return again in September for Bakunawa. It was also noted from photos taken that Super P seems to be getting more physical during training. While this is again speculation, it hopefully means she is getting closer to being ring-ready.
Speaking of Bakunawa, the main event is set to see Main Maxx defend his title against Fabio Makisig. Whether Fabio wins the belt or not, it’s noted that some of the more established main eventers in the PUSOverse have been staking their claim recently. One of them, however, seems to be taking a back seat — Jake De Leon. SEA Wrestling speculates he would be the logical next challenger for the title down the road, regardless of who wins in September.
In DEXCON news, another match was announced: Peks Man – The Magnificent Open, which will be a multi-man match arranged around matchmaker Miguel’s rules. This match will have some form of to-be-confirmed prize.
Additionally, keep an eye out for an announcement soon that Dakila will be available on Triller TV.
Filipino Pro Wrestling seems to have had a very successful Astig taping, with strong pre- and post-show press participation. More information about the late summer show advertised during the taping should be available shortly.
Singapore – Pro Wrestling Festival Next Weekend, Matches for SPW and ROR
Next weekend, Grapplemax presents Pro Wrestling Festival 2 at Jurong Spring Community Center in Singapore. The event will center around the inaugural Rising Championship Four-Way Match. Keep an eye out for our full preview in the coming days.
Ring of Rebirth will also present a show next weekend titled Red Light, Green Light. Matches announced so far include Raj vs. John Day and Geylang Green vs. Eurasian Dragon. It will be interesting to see how the event’s theme plays into the matches and who steps up to fill the void left by Varun Khanna’s excursion and JT’s retirement.
Meanwhile, Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW) has announced more matches for Heartland Havoc.
The card is already looking stacked despite the show still being some time away. Newly announced bouts this week include Aiden Rex vs. Wonderboy vs. Emman and Karina vs. Selina.
The newly-formed faction, The Legion of Total Anarchy, sat down for an interview — though they didn’t have much to say. What stood out more than their words was their attitude: the group carries themselves like a punk band, embracing chaos, rejecting convention, and living with a reckless, carefree spirit. It’s clear they’re here to cause trouble on their own terms.

Thailand – Plans Change for SETUP Under Pressure, Kingdom Under Fire
Top Dojo presents Kingdom Under Fire, their next show this weekend. The event will focus on crowning a new King of Thai Wrestling Champion. Matches announced include Prince Benny vs. Kuma, Wassana vs. P-Nutz, Best Boonpa vs. Silverbullet, and Chayut vs. Golem Thai.
Paradise Sports Entertainment is continuing to work with Chinese influencers and movie stars on producing pro-wrestling content. Additionally, Sunny Z looks to be off on his travels again for NTW.
SETUP Thailand presents Under Pressure next Saturday (26th) from Circus Studio in Bangkok. Originally, they suggested last week that Shivam would challenge Benji in a title vs. contract match. However, Benji is currently not in Southeast Asia, meaning Shivam will instead attempt to teach the Kappas — who stood in his way during the main event at the last IWA show — a lesson in respect.

Vietnam – Viva Van Faces Off Against Recognisable Face
On August 8th, VPW Women’s Champion Viva Van will team with VertVixen to take on Beatrice Domino and former WWE Superstar Shotzi Blackheart. This match is sure to have fans on the edge of their seats as four women with strength, style, and attitude collide at Big Time Wrestling’s Know Your Enemy event.
