SEA Wrestling News Roundup
SEA Wrestling tries to publish all news articles individually so that each topic receives the attention it deserves. However, with so many shows on the horizon from now through April, things are heating up! Here’s a quick roundup of what’s been happening over the last seven days or so.
Malaysia
Next weekend, APAC Wrestling presents its first event of 2025: Rage in the Cage at The Cage. In the main event, Cheeseburger Kid (CBK) will get a shot at the APAC Wrestling Championship against Dreamkiller Azroy. No other matches have been announced at this time. If you're in the Kuala Lumpur area, we recommend getting your tickets before they sell out—this is the first taste of Malaysian pro wrestling in 2025!
Tickets available here.
MYPW is currently focused on its training school, delivering high-quality sessions for aspiring wrestlers. While nothing has been announced yet for 2025, the promotion recently shared a look back at its first show at KuAsh Theatre 10 years ago, celebrating its progress. MYPW is also preparing for its presence at GrappleMax’s Causeway Jam.

Philippines
As we approach March 16th, more news is being released regarding the wrestlers and matches for Dexcon WrestleStorm 2 (Tickets). Jake De Leon will team up with Yoshi Tatsu to face Fabio Makisig and Jomar in the main event. Additionally, it has been announced that another international team will be flying in for the event. Best Bros (Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki) will be making their way to WrestleStorm 2. Although not yet confirmed, this duo is likely to answer Super P’s loud and confident challenge for new competition from the Asiaverse!
Puso Wrestling continues to present livestreamed cards every 2-3 weeks but has yet to announce any shows with live audiences. This is likely to change after the highly anticipated WrestleStorm 2 and WUW Master Clash. In an update from a previous report, it looks like events from WUW and hopefully Puso will also air on Solar Sports.
Filipino Pro Wrestling (FPW) has remained somewhat quiet regarding further Astig shows. However, reports suggest that events will resume later in 2025. Meanwhile, their training academy continues to host classes, featuring special guests such as Koji Akuma and Zayden.

Singapore
GrappleMax is gearing up for its major event, Causeway Jam, on February 22nd at UBI 55 (Tickets), featuring top stars from MYPW. The current lineup includes:
Wonderboy (MYPW) vs. Hotshot (GrappleMax Openweight Championship)
Divya (5-time CWE Divas Champion, GrappleMax) vs. Poppy (MYPW)
Ship’s Ahoy vs. Aussie Aussie Aussie (GrappleMax Tag Team Championship)
Miles Karu vs. SPD
Sywal & Fienic Rose vs. Larhvin & Simon Siah
The promotion that wins three out of five matches will become the inaugural winners of the Causeway Jam Cup. The stakes have never been higher in these cross-border clashes!
Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW) is also preparing for its second event of the year, Unchained (Tickets), taking place on March 7th at the Foo Chow Building. The card already looks stacked, with a huge intergender tag team main event featuring:
The Statement & Yuki Kamifuku vs. Da Butcherman & Alexis Lee
This match was set up after a brutal multi-man assault on Trent Seven was stopped by the opposing team at the conclusion of Champions Never Yield 3.
Also on the card:
Mighty Arrow reunite to continue Mighty Might’s quest to take down The Midnight Bastards
Bryson Blade defends his new Hardcore Championship against Riz and Emman
Jeney vs. Selina (Women’s Division)
Dragon Dia (Dragon Gate, Japan) vs. Aiden Rex
Jack N’ Cheese vs. Craven & Shaheen (DXB)
Dr. Gore cashes in his gauntlet prize to challenge CK Vin for the SPW Singapore Championship
Meanwhile, The Statement and Alexis Lee recently attempted to mend their broken friendship by filming promotional material at Onikimbap, but rumors suggest tensions remain high. SPW is also gradually releasing footage from CNY3 on YouTube for free.
Ring of Rebirth (ROR) is preparing for its second show of 2025, Experience Fast 4 Ever, on March 1st. The only match announced so far is a ROR Championship Tournament match between "New Mr. Geylang" Raj and BGJ (Jack N’ Cheese).
Other wrestlers announced include:
Aerial Sniper Nyc
The Eurasian Dragon
Varun Khanna
Erfie
Geylang Green
Alfred
Tickets for all these events in Singapore are available now.

Thailand
SETUP Thailand continues its partnership with IWA Japan and is preparing for its next show, Doublecross, on March 22nd at The Circus Studio. Tickets available here. Announced so far:
Alexis Lee appearing
The start of a new Uprising Series tournament for newer wrestlers
The Uprising Series follows a round-robin format similar to G1 or Best of the Super Juniors:
Two groups: Block A & Block B
Matches are 10-minute singles bouts
Scoring system: 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss
Group stage runs across three shows
The top wrestler from each block meets in the final match in June 2025
Winner earns a title shot for the SETUP Thailand Openweight Championship, redeemable within a year
SETUP also provided an update on Monomoth’s injury—suffered at the hands of Shivam—which has left him with a broken jaw, forcing him out of Doublecross and the IWA Championship Contender Tournament.
Paradise Sports Entertainment (PSE) continues to run what is likely the busiest wrestling schedule worldwide, holding nightly events at Lahee 869. This venue offers a beer-club atmosphere, blending high-level wrestling with an ever-changing mix of wrestlers and spectators. PSE even moved its 1-year anniversary show to Lahee 869 and is currently promoting a Big Ben vs. Chad match for the top title. We'll have a feature on PSE in Issue 2 of SEA Wrestling Magazine.

Vietnam
Last but not least, Vietnam Pro Wrestling (VPW) will present its first event of 2025, Spring Bash, on February 22nd at VAIB Studio. Stay tuned for a full card breakdown, or check out their Facebook page for details and tickets. Tickets also available here.
In other news, VPW’s most hated man will return to the music stage at Heavy Hitters Rock Night on March 8th at Bardo, Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City. Joining him will be VPW’s ring announcer X-Pat. We have no idea what he has in store for a heavy metal crowd, but we’re not quite sure he’ll be their cup of tea!
