UNDER PRESSURE? OR JUST GETTING STARTED?

SETUP Thailand’s Most Chaotic Show Yet is Set to Explode This Saturday in Bangkok.

If you’ve been following the Southeast Asian wrestling scene lately, you’ll know things at SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling have gone from competitive… to downright personal. Rivalries are spilling over. Titles are caught in crossfire. Egos are running wild. And through it all, SETUP’s next live event might just be the boiling point: EP.23: UNDER PRESSURE — this Saturday at The Circus Studio in Bangkok.

Why the name UNDER PRESSURE? It’s not just a nod to SETUP’s current state of affairs. It’s a blunt reality check for everyone on the card. Pressure breaks some. Pressure builds others. Who’s ready to crack, and who’s about to thrive?

Blick Drewz vs Pondhub: Friendly Fire, Real Stakes

Not every match on the UNDER PRESSURE card is about championships or grudges. Sometimes, it’s about momentum. That’s exactly what’s on the line when Blick Drewz faces Pondhub in a 15-minute single fall contest.

Though these two weren’t in the same block during this year’s Uprising Series, fans will remember they did team up once — and did so spectacularly. In just seconds, they flattened their opponents. That performance sparked a lot of chatter among SETUP’s faithful:

“What would happen if they faced each other one-on-one?”

We’re about to find out.

There’s also a deeper story for Blick Drewz. In his last match, even though victory escaped him in the end, he managed to pin Mr. Suchart — half of the current Tag Team Champions — with his devastating Scissors Kick. That’s not a fluke win; that’s a statement.

With Monomoth, his former partner, currently sidelined with injury, Blick Drewz may just be carving out his own path faster than anyone expected. If he can keep this momentum going, there’s no telling how quickly he might ascend the SETUP ranks.

The Uprising Series Finale: Gunn vs Kru Pol — One Shot at Glory

The clash of SETUP’s New Generation has finally reached its climax. At UNDER PRESSURE, two men step into the ring knowing that everything is on the line. The winner won’t just earn bragging rights — they’ll secure the biggest opportunity of their careers:
A future shot at the SETUP Thailand Openweight Championship, currently held by Andruew Tang of Real Global Threat.

For Gunn, this is a chance to finally reclaim his place. Despite boasting over five years of experience, a lengthy hiatus allowed a new wave of talent to surge past him. Now, with momentum on his side, Gunn is determined to prove he still belongs at the top of the card.

On the opposite side stands Kru Pol — a name fans once associated more with influencer fame than in-ring ability. But since stepping between the ropes full-time, Kru Pol has steadily won over doubters, evolving into a serious competitor worthy of this stage.

Two careers. Two paths. One golden opportunity.

Ram Kaichow Comes to Thailand for Revenge

Japan’s Ram Kaichow arrives with a score to settle. Not with SETUP. Not even with Thailand. But with Matcha, the woman who dethroned her wife Raku for the Women’s Championship.

Ram isn’t here for a polite exchange of wristlocks. She’s here for revenge. This marks her Thailand debut and she’s vowed to make it a painful memory for her opponent. If you believe in wrestling curses, note this: both Pom Harajuku and Raku lost their titles on their second defenses. Matcha? This is her second defense. Coincidence? Or something darker?

Anont Alonzo vs Mr. Suchart: A Tag Title First

It’s rare that a Tag Team Championship dispute leads to a singles match — but welcome to SETUP, where anything can happen. Good Deal (Anont Alonzo & Mr. Suchart) went from holding gold together to fighting over who deserves it more. The belts have changed hands unofficially more than once backstage, so management made the call: settle it in the ring.

The winner? They walk away holding both tag titles — and the right to pick a new partner moving forward.

It’s unprecedented. It’s messy. But it’s SETUP’s way of ensuring no one can claim they were cheated this time.

Shivam vs Kappas: Business, Not Pleasure

Somewhere between serious wrestling and absurd theatre, Kappa Kozo & Kappa Jr. (yes, the actual kappas from Japan’s IWA UMA Corps) are stepping up to face Shivam, SETUP’s most vocal villain. The beef? The Kappas interrupted Shivam at IWA Whiplash and cost him his shot to ruin Jonathan Johnson’s night.

Shivam’s response? Violence.

But this is bigger than a squash match. With SETUP planning its Tokyo return in November, the Kappas are fighting for more than pride — they’re fighting for their spot on the card in front of their home crowd. Shivam? He’s fighting to remind everyone why RGT runs this region.

BGJ & Jeney: Petty, Personal, and Public

It’s not a SETUP show without something truly bizarre making headlines. This time? The war of words (and stupidity) between Big Good Jack (BGJ) and Jeney might just take the cake.

What started as backstage tension over past “bullying” has spiraled into a full-on intergender grudge match with ridiculous stipulations. BGJ claims he wanted to teach Jeney a lesson by pranking her — falsely announcing her booking at SPW Singapore (which SPW had to publicly deny). He calls it “just having fun.” Jeney calls it a disgrace.

The match? Jeney wins with a 2-count pin. BGJ needs a standard 3-count. Knockouts and submissions count either way. It’s petty. It’s stupid. It’s happening. And it might be more violent than anyone expects. BGJ has already warned SETUP not to “come crying” if things get ugly.

Jonathan Johnson’s Champion Reality Check

For all the celebrations last month when Jonathan Johnson captured the IWA Japan World Heavyweight Title and made history as Thailand’s first-ever singles world champion… there’s been no time for parades. No sooner had Johnson declared he wanted a “real challenge,” than two names stepped up. Both of them carrying bigger reputations, bigger experience, and arguably — bigger chips on their shoulders.

Andruew Tang isn’t just the SETUP Openweight Champion. He’s the poster boy for Singapore’s SPW, the leader of RGT (Real Global Threat), and the man who’s made Johnson’s life miserable for years. Tang wasted no time accepting Johnson’s challenge. After all, why shouldn’t he? He’s beaten Johnson before. More than once. And unlike Johnson, Tang’s legacy doesn’t need defending — it speaks for itself.

Then there’s Chris Brookes. A wildcard if there ever was one. DDT Pro-Wrestling legend. KO-D Openweight Champion. World-traveled, world-tested, and undefeated against Thai talent. If you’re Jonathan Johnson, having Brookes in this match is the wrestling equivalent of a bad omen: the guy who shows up, takes what he wants, and leaves you wondering what just happened.

The saying goes, “It’s harder to stay champion than to become one.” Johnson’s about to find out just how true that is.

SETUP Thailand has always been a promotion where chaos and creativity collide. From serious championship drama to intergender grudge matches rooted in social media beef, this show feels like a perfect snapshot of what SETUP is about in 2025.

It’s messy. It’s loud. It’s sometimes personal. But under pressure… these are the moments that define a company.
