SETUP Thailand – A Hard Day’s Night Preview
Streaming live on the Soop Thailand App
After the momentum of A New Dawn — a landmark show that proved SETUP Thailand can operate on a global stage — A Hard Day’s Night arrives as the last major checkpoint before the upcoming SETUP/TJPW double header. For many on the roster, this show may be the final opportunity to plant a flag, make a statement, and walk into December with real momentum.
Below is a full breakdown of what fans can expect on November 29.
Blick Drewz, Kru Pol & Kevin Weng (w/ Jeney) vs Kappa Kozo, Kappa Jr. & Naga Nai (w/ Terry Diesel)
A chaotic showdown with Jeney’s fate hanging in the balance
This match arrives with Jeney herself as the prize. The Great Naga Nai’s mission to build the world’s strongest demonic unit has led directly to this wild six-man tag, and it’s forced St. John’s members to band together for one purpose: rescue Jeney first… and tease her later. An additional twist sees Blick Drewz stepping in for Pondhub, who is currently sidelined by serious debt troubles. That switch has only added more layers to an already tangled storyline. With stakes, grudges, and supernatural threads all tightening at once, this one could explode in any direction.
Shivam vs Carlo Cannon vs Jonathan Johnson (c)
IWA Japan Heavyweight Championship – Southeast Asia’s Super Dream Match
After A New Dawn became the highest-attended show in its Japanese venue’s history, IWA Japan officials decided the two Thai wrestlers featured in the dual main events should meet again — this time for the IWA Japan Championship. To raise the stakes even higher, MYPW’s Carlo Cannon has been added. Cannon, the longest-reigning world champion in Malaysian wrestling history, is a Lance Storm–trained heavyweight who has dominated Southeast Asia for years. No Thai wrestler has ever beaten him, making him the ultimate “Last Boss.” Carlo Cannon is world-travelled, a mentor figure across SEA wrestling, and held the MYPW World Championship for over 1000 days. Shivam is the most dominant MYPW Southeast Asian Champion ever and RGT’s most feared enforcer, riding a career-defining 2025. Jonathan Johnson, the young ace of Thai wrestling and the defending champion, rebuilt his confidence earlier this year by defeating Emman Azman and The Statement — and now seeks revenge on Shivam while proving himself against Cannon. All three men have something to prove, and only one will leave with the belt.
Wonderboy vs P’Suchart vs Thanomsak Toba
A three-way clash with major career implications
The match originally set for Wonderboy and P’Suchart has shifted dramatically. At A New Dawn, veteran DDT wrestler Thanomsak Toba — in Thailand as part of the photography crew — unexpectedly became involved in the action. Fan requests poured in, leading to his official return to a SETUP ring. Toba brings deep credentials as a DDT original, a Muay Thai specialist trained in Thailand, and the very man who taught Kota Ibushi the fundamentals of Muay Thai striking. He previously challenged for the SETUP Openweight Championship but fell short — now he’s back to make a statement. Wonderboy just earned his first official work opportunity with DDT in Malaysia, while P’Suchart, coming off losing his Tag Team Championship, needs to prove himself quickly in singles competition, especially with Anont Alonzo pulling ahead. Every wrestler in this match has a clear trajectory, and winning here is essential to that path.
Anont Alonzo vs “Nasty” Nic Nolan (USA)
A singles reset against a highly-touted American prospect
While Good Deal’s tag title loss stung, Anont Alonzo seems to be thriving individually. With a world title match against Daz Black scheduled early next year and a recent win over Kagura in Japan, he’s carving out a strong singles identity. Across the ring stands Nic Nolan, one of the standout independent wrestlers from the U.S. Trained directly by Lance Storm and Seth Rollins, he’s a favourite of Carlo Cannon — a man who has also shared the ring with Anont. This matchup is no walkover. If Anont wants to solidify himself as Thailand’s rising singles star, he has to stack up big wins, starting here.
SETUP All Asia Women’s Championship – Matcha (c) vs Marika Kobashi
Matcha’s November is stacked: title defences in Japan against Ram Kaichou and Pom Harajuku, followed by a confirmed showdown with former TJPW champion Marika Kobashi. Kobashi, a former Tokyo Princess Tag Champion with nearly a decade of experience, still returns to TJPW from time to time. Stylistically, she matches up well with Matcha — both are young, polished, and capable of mixing charm with intensity. With her Princess of Princess title challenge around the corner, Matcha needs to walk into December looking strong, while Kobashi has something to prove after her loss to Divya at Grapplemax.
SETUP Thailand Openweight Championship – Triple Threat
Monomoth (c) vs Dr. Gore vs Koki Iwasaki
Monomoth’s return was explosive — taking the title from Andruew Tang at SETUP EP.24 and instantly finding himself booked in back-to-back defences. His challengers here bring very different threats. Dr. Gore, a founding SETUP member and part of The Horrors, was once scheduled for a pre-COVID title shot that never happened. With Da Butcherman currently holding the top belt in SPW, Gore capturing singles gold in Thailand would be a career milestone. Koki Iwasaki, a hard-hitting former DDT 6-Man Tag Champion, makes his first appearance in Thailand and aims to make an immediate impact — and taking the top belt on debut would do exactly that. For Monomoth, this is a trial by fire. For the challengers, it’s a chance to reshape the title picture entirely.
A Hard Day’s Night isn’t just another event — it’s the final chapter before SETUP Thailand steps onto a bigger stage with their TJPW collaboration. From international debuts to high-stakes title bouts, this card will determine who enters December with momentum and who gets left behind. Fans can stream the entire event live on the Soop Thailand App.
