SETUP Thailand Announces EP.26, Chris Brookes Return, and International Booking for Openweight Champion Monomoth

SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling has announced several key developments heading into 2026, including details for its next event, SETUP EP.26, Real Global Force, Feb 21st from the Circus Studio. The return of Chris Brookes to Thailand, and the confirmation of Openweight Champion Monomoth for an upcoming appearance in the United States. Together, the announcements outline SETUP’s plans for the early part of the year and continue the promotion’s focus on international collaboration and overseas opportunities for Thai wrestlers.

SETUP EP.26 will be the promotion’s first key event of 2026. The show follows a busy 2025 for SETUP, during which the company worked with multiple international promotions and held events outside Thailand, including in Japan. According to the promotion, those experiences have influenced the planning and structure of its upcoming shows, with EP.26 positioned as the first event reflecting that approach.

The event will be presented in collaboration with DDT Pro Wrestling and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. Both Japanese promotions have previously worked with SETUP and will again be involved in the Bangkok-based show. SETUP has also confirmed that live performances by Thai idol groups will return as part of the event format, continuing an element that has been featured at several previous shows. Additional announcements regarding participants and matches are expected closer to the event date.

A major storyline connected to SETUP EP.26 is the return of Chris Brookes to Thailand. Brookes, who is currently affiliated with the Real Global Threat (RGT) group, has been an active presence in Japan and across the Asian wrestling scene. In recent months, he competed at the Tokyo Dome and formed a new unit within DDT, further strengthening his position within Japanese professional wrestling.

Brookes’ relationship with SETUP, however, remains complicated. His actions during the Under Pressure event in 2025 resulted in significant backlash from fans and are still referenced as a turning point in his standing within the promotion. His return to a SETUP ring brings unresolved issues back into focus, with audience reaction expected to play a role in how his next chapter in Thailand unfolds.

Monomoth to wrestle in Las Vegas

In addition to domestic developments, SETUP also confirmed international news involving its top titleholder. SETUP Thailand Openweight Champion Monomoth has been announced for GCW Big Gay Brunch 11, which will take place during WrestleMania Weekend 2026. The event is scheduled for April 18 at the Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be broadcast live on TrillerTV.

Monomoth’s booking continues his association with Game Changer Wrestling, following his debut with the promotion in 2024. That appearance marked the first time a Thai wrestler competed for GCW. During the event, Monomoth took part in a four-way match against Aaron Rourke, Rico Gonzalez, and Devon Monroe, a performance that drew attention from both fans and media outlets covering the independent wrestling scene in the United States.

Since then, Monomoth has remained one of the most internationally visible Thai wrestlers and is widely recognised for his representation of the LGBTQIA+ community within professional wrestling. His upcoming appearance at Big Gay Brunch 11 places him on one of the most prominent independent wrestling cards of the year and provides additional exposure for both himself and SETUP Thailand.

With SETUP EP.26 approaching, the return of Chris Brookes, and Monomoth set to compete in the United States, SETUP Thailand enters 2026 with a combination of domestic storylines and international representation. The promotion continues to balance the development of its local roster with opportunities for its wrestlers to appear on larger global platforms, maintaining its role within the broader Southeast Asian wrestling landscape.
