Wrestler of the Week — Super P

This week’s featured wrestler has had a busy year so far. She’s given multiple media interviews, wrestled several high-profile matches on Puso’s Livestream series, and pushed her opponents to the limit at various mat shows. Not only that, but she’s also flown to Malaysia to train at MYPWDC, released her own theme song, and been the subject of several stunning comic book artworks.

This coming weekend, she and her Super Friends tag team partner, El Katipunero, step up to the big stage as they main event Dexcon Wrestling’s Wrestlestorm 2, available on Triller TV. She is, of course, Super P.

Super P debuted in 2023 after training on and off with the Manila Wrestling Federation for several years. Her first match teamed her with El Katipunero against Isaiah Valencia and Pink Shirt. Standing at 5 feet tall and weighing 110 pounds, she trained under renowned Filipino wrestlers Jake De Leon, El Katipunero, and Fabio Makisig.

Inspired by her childhood idols — Lita, Natalya Neidhart, and Japanese star Kairi Sane — Super P blended her love of comics into her wrestling persona, creating a superheroine character. She hopes to be the kind of role model she wished for as a child, telling PHILSTARLIFE.COM:

"I want to be my own superhero, role model for my younger self."

She also grew up a fan of Pinoy Wrestling Pioneers such as Joe Pogi on the original pinoy wrestling program (discussed in SEA Wrestling Issue 1) as she told SEA Wrestling during a recent conversation.

In a recent interview on The Wrestling-Wrestling Podcast, Super P discussed her journey into wrestling, the fulfillment of her dreams, and her experiences since her debut. The appearance gave fans a deeper understanding of her personality, her ambitions, and the passion she brings to the ring.

Some of her most notable matches include horror-themed bouts at Dr. Gore’s Graveyard Shift shows in Quezon and Singapore. She also made waves in the Pwersang Pinay Gauntlet, eliminating three other wrestlers while paying homage to her longtime admiration for British wrestling legends like Johnny Saint.

This is only the beginning for this rising star. As she prepares to take her next big step this Saturday, Super P’s electrifying performances, relentless dedication, and infectious enthusiasm continue to inspire fans and fellow athletes alike.
