VPW Open Day Recap

Vietnam Pro Wrestling held another open day for prospective wrestlers last weekend. Throughout the event, wrestlers including Khoa Truong, Dokuga and Ares fielded questions from fans, training workshops were run, and a series of excellent demo matches were performed.

The card featured:

Flying Felix & Darren vs Ronnie El Rapido & Hai Nguyen

Evil Willy (Billy's alter ego) vs Ares

As always, the VPW roster delivered with full effort and enthusiasm. A few notable takeaways from the day:

Hai Nguyen is a character rooted in Vietnamese farming culture and mythology.

Even when much of the dialogue isn't easy to follow, the wrestlers really come alive when they can verbalise to each other in Vietnamese, leaning into the slapstick performance style native to the culture.

Newcomers Flying Felix and Darren were excellent at this. It was also Darren's debut match, and he was aggressive in the ring in all the right ways, selling his hyper-angry young man character to a tee. Fittingly for wrestling, he's of course one of the nicest people outside the ring.

DEXCON Dakila 2 Fallout

Beyond the match results, a few question marks and updates emerged from DEXCON Dakila 2:

DEXCON's next show will be Jam of the Joshis, though the date hasn't been set yet. Hopefully we get some Puso shows in the meantime.

It looks like Super P will be defending her CWE Vixens Championship on that show against Chelsea Marie and Crystal, who confronted her at Dakila.

There was no real movement on the Sexy Juicy Miguel / Robin Sane storyline, which was probably wise given the showcase nature of the event. We'd expect this to be picked up in June at the next show, WUW Master Wars (June 19th).

At the end of the show, a fan caught a shot of Shivam helping Chris Brookes while an angry JDL looked on. Reportedly this was just the heat of the match cooling down — but it would be an interesting way to pivot the RGT group into their first (and genuinely unexpected) kick out. One has to happen eventually.

Zack Sabre Jr was also spotted in the ring with JDL, mic in hand, though there are no reports yet on what was said. A rematch between the two would be hotly received.

Bash At Bahru This Weekend

Following the published card on Peatix, it turns out there were a few clear red herrings — the card has since been upgraded to a star-studded affair.

The top match is arguably Pirate Powers exploding, as Sarah Coldheart and Xtian of Ships Ahoy finally aim to settle the score in the tag partner rivalry of the year.

Greg Ho Talks to Singapore Legend

Greg Ho (Endboss GREGORY) has been doing some research as part of his preparations for Bash at Bahru. To celebrate the history of wrestling in Singapore, he visited the Singapore archives and sat down with Singapore veteran Mehar Singh to talk about the shows that were held in years past, particularly at the celebrated Gaylord Arena.

Benji vs Super Crazy in Pattaya

Super Crazy's opponent for his Pattaya appearance has been announced as PSE's Benji. If you're in Pattaya, this is a match you won't want to miss — the pair's feet may not touch the floor for much of it.

Ring of Rebirth Experience 11 This Weekend

Alongside news of a cyber security seminar, ROR dropped a shocking video package announcing that Sayn RH has been permanently eliminated from the Singapore wrestling scene. In the video, Tok Bomoh Mekong takes control and eliminates the Wolfram Cartel boss, explaining that he comes from another dimension — hence the resemblance. Eurasian Dragon and Riz arrived too late to intervene.

Mekong then demanded a match against Ahmed Arif, which will headline this weekend's show as a street fight.

Badd Company Are Heading to SPW Reckoning

After almost ten long years, Southeast Asia's legendary tag team returns to the SPW ring. P-Nutz and Golem Thai — known together as Badd Company — will make their long-awaited comeback at SPW Reckoning on July 3rd, 2026.

Badd Company are currently creating a storm in SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling, where they've become the number one contenders for the IWA Japan World Tag Team Championship. At the same time, P-Nutz is also scheduled to challenge for the IWA Japan World Heavyweight Title as a singles competitor. After staying quiet for a long time, now is the right moment for them to prove they've still got it and show they're ready to win SPW gold once again.

Currently associated with Thailand Origin Pro Wrestling, they're now in their 14th year in the business. Singapore fans — you're about to witness the legends. They are Badd Company. They are bad, and they are the best.

Number one contender Miss Selina will cash in on her title opportunity against SPW Queen of Asia Champion Alexis Lee on July 3rd at SPW Reckoning.
