SEA Wrestling Weekend Results Roundup: Grapplemax, Baka Gaijin Manila 2 & DEXCON Dakila 2

Baka Gaijin Returns to Manila

The weekend kicked off in the Philippines on Saturday as Baka Gaijin & Friends MNL 2— the beloved bar wrestling concept that has become one of the most talked-about shows in Japan — made its second trip to Manila. Held at Sari Sari Bar in Makati City, the event delivered exactly the kind of chaotic, anything-goes wrestling it's known for, this time powered by the chemistry between the Baka Gaijin crew and the local Pinoy roster.

On the card, Chris Brookes and Zack Sabre Jr. teamed up to defeat Hotdog de San Jose (Nigel San Jose) and Super P, while a six-man tag saw the team of Joya, Main Ronn and Robin Sane get the win over Crystal, Demonyitang Daniella Cavite and Main Maxx. Emman Azman and Mad Kat Karina picked up a tag team victory over trainees Keeko and Kento, Jonathan Johnson defeated Munetatsu Nakamura in singles action, and Jake De Leon and Shivam rounded out the night by beating Black Kat and Lifeguard Jack.

Dakila 2 Marks a New Chapter for DEXCON

The following night, DEXCON held its biggest show to date — Dakila 2 — at Bigger Pictures Spaces in Mandaluyong City. The promotion stepped up in a meaningful way, debuting in a new, larger venue in front of a crowd estimated at over 250 fans, complete with a bigger ring to match.

The night had no shortage of memorable moments. Isaiah Valencia won the Mixed Nuts match, though his reward afterwards appeared to be an untimely slap to his own anatomy. Jomar made a thunderous entrance, quite literally riding his motorcycle into the building. Joya retained the DEXCON Women's Championship over Mad Kat Karina. Robin Sane captured a four-way over Shaheen, Jonathan Johnson and Munetatsu Nakamura with a 450 splash. Shivam held on to the IWA World Championship against Joey Rosas. Nigel San Jose — after interference from Valencia — pinned Da Butcherman. Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Ravena with the Zack Driver. And in the main event, Jake De Leon successfully defended the DEXCON World Championship against Chris Brookes.

Grapplemax Says Goodbye to the UBI Dome

Meanwhile in Singapore, Grapplemax quietly closed out an era. The promotion ran a secret farewell show at its UBI Dome studios for a select group of fans before its upcoming move to a new venue, to be announced in July ahead of the Bash at Bahru and Pink Fest shows.

At the request of the promotion, full results are being kept under wraps — but attendees noted the returns of Wildfire Remus and Joses, as well as a strong NWE presence with Melvin, Tydus, Alani and Nish all on the card. One fan revealed the main event was a mixed tag team match, though given what may be brewing storyline-wise, we'll leave it at that.
