SEA Wrestling News Roundup – 4th September 2025
We are now officially into September, and Southeast Asian wrestling has already kicked things off with a bang. Following successful shows in Singapore and Malaysia this past week, a ton of news has dropped, creating plenty of excitement across the community.

Malaysia
APAC SlamFest 25
Coming out of SlamFest 25, Nor ‘Phoenix’ Diana is officially the number one contender for the WWE ID Championship. This marks the first time a Malaysian wrestler will challenge for a WWE-branded championship.
No date has been set for the match, but the likely locations are either Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling in Texas, or—what most fans are hoping for—Malaysia, under the APAC Wrestling banner.
SEA Wrestling Commentary: This is a huge opportunity for Malaysian wrestling. Ideally, the match happens in Malaysia, but local fans shouldn’t hold out hope too firmly. Either way, Malaysia and Diana benefit: further Stateside exposure helps her career and the country’s profile, while a WWE title match could put Malaysia even further on the global map.

Singapore
Grapplemax Keeping Fans Talking
Following Slam & Savour, Grapplemax announced the full lineup for their next show:
Endboss Gregory vs Kelvin Lang – Gregory returns to the ring after a year.
Ban Sachak & Nish vs “Scum Dawg” Sage Matthews & Tydus – a rare and exciting international appearance on an NWE Showcase.
Justin vs Simon Siah
Devan & Nathaniel vs BIG DAVE & “The Pillar” Shawn Phang
SPD is now the number one contender for Hotshot’s Openweight Championship. No date has been confirmed, but the match will likely be tied to one of the upcoming events. With Hotshot also feuding with Endboss Gregory, it may be some time before SPD gets his shot.
Grapplemax will run the infamous Foo Chow building for their Unity 9th Anniversary event on 22nd November. Best known as the home of Singapore Pro Wrestling’s biggest shows, Foo Chow has become synonymous with Singapore’s wrestling scene, and its use by Grapplemax makes a major statement.
In the meantime, Grapplemax wrestlers will head to Manila for FPW Unfinished Business on 14th September, where SPD, Hotshot, Xtian, Big Dave, and Jullian Creed will team up against Cali Nueva, Legendarius, Joshua Ellevistah, and The Yolo Twins.
SEA Wrestling Commentary: Grapplemax using Foo Chow is a huge statement. With an event name like Unity, the question is whether SPW will be involved, or if we’ll see a double-header across the same weekend.
Sage Matthews’ appearance is also notable—a rare chance for local fans to see him in a full-ring environment. The well-traveled star left quite the impression on his last visit.
Singapore Pro Wrestling Sets the Stage for Hardcore Island
Meanwhile, Singapore Pro Wrestling has announced Hardcore Island 3 but hasn’t yet revealed a venue or date. This could hint at a move to a larger location. Rumored matches include Da Butcherman vs Shiehiro Irie in a rematch, and Real Global Threat (Emman Azman & The Statement) challenging Jack N’Cheese for the tag titles.
SEA Wrestling Commentary: If both Grapplemax and SPW run Foo Chow, it would mirror Japan’s Korakuen Hall, where multiple promotions share the same space. It could firmly cement Foo Chow as the epicenter of Singapore wrestling, especially with SEA Wrestling’s expansion.

Philippines
Puso Wrestling – Bakunawa (15th September)
The lineup is set:
Main Maxx vs Fabio Makisig
Badd Butts vs Chelsea Marie & Joya
Jake De Leon vs Joey Rosas
4-Way Moon Eater Match: Robin Sane vs Crystal vs Ravena vs Nigel San Jose
Jomar vs Danny Zamora
Bahay Ng Liwanag in action
Super Friends vs Otaku Alien
Ken Cifer vs Sage Matthews
The next Puso Wrestling show has also been announced: another Headlocks & Headbangs mat show at Sari Sari on 19th September. Super P and the Space Bandits, along with The Mox, are confirmed as musical acts. No matches have been announced yet.
FPW – Unfinished Business (14th September, afternoon)
The card includes:
Grapplemax vs FPW 10-man tag
Metro Manila Championship – Duke Ortega vs Mharckie vs Jason Rex vs Ralph Imbayashi
Thiago vs Rocco Nacino
Roxy Reves vs Versus
Mike Madrigal vs Jan Evander
Chino Guinto vs Quatro
Unfortunately, Rex Lawin is out due to injury, meaning the Metro Manila title match will now be a fatal four-way.
SEA Wrestling Commentary: Both promotions are putting their best foot forward, and it’s shaping up to be a busy weekend for Manila fans. FPW’s roster looks fresh and exciting—it would be great to see more footage released so international fans can follow along. Puso Wrestling, meanwhile, continues to stack its cards. Hopefully, they’ll release another YouTube series so fans outside the Philippines can enjoy the episodic storytelling.

Thailand
New Training Hours at PSE Thailand
PSE Thailand has announced its updated training timetable following the team’s return from Phuket. Sessions will be held in Pattaya every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. throughout September. Wrestlers and trainees are encouraged to sign up as the promotion prepares for upcoming events.
Top Dojo Pro Wrestling – XTERMINATION
Sunday, 21st September 2025 – Motorway Dojo (Soi Sangob Suk), near Hua Mak Airport Rail Link.
Doors: 12:00 p.m.
Show: 12:30 p.m.
Tickets: 250 THB (includes one soft drink + random collectible card pack).
Fans are asked not to livestream, though photos and short clips are welcome. A replay will later be uploaded to YouTube. Tickets can be reserved via Facebook inbox, LINE (@pluplaplo), or purchased at the door.
New Matches for SETUP Paranoid
Controversy surrounds Flame Drake—now reborn as Naga Nai—as faith and borrowed money spill into the ring. Partnered with veteran Terry Diesel, the pair face Blick Drewz and Pondhub in a handicap match, with unpaid debts on the line.
Also featured: Malaysia’s high-energy duo LOVE x FRDM, making their Thai debut and aiming to carve out LGBTQ+ representation in SEA wrestling.
A three-way tag clash rounds out the card:
Kappa Kozo & Kappa Jr. vs Matcha & Kevin Weng vs Jeney & Kru Pol
SEA Wrestling Commentary: The Thai scene is thriving. Naga Nai’s reinvention gives him new life, and LOVE x FRDM’s presence is exciting—they’re already over in Malaysia and Singapore, so Thailand could be the next step. The three-way tag also has great storylines with Kru Pol under school pressure, Weng returning from injury, and Kozo & Jr. trying to prove themselves.

Vietnam
VPW will host a free afternoon show at Primal Fitness in District 2, featuring three matches:
Ares (c) vs Ronnie – Openweight Championship
The Classic Night vs Venomshank
Sid Nguyen vs Rocky Huynh vs KPY
Matches start at 12:00 p.m., with refreshments available.
SEA Wrestling Commentary: Sid vs Rocky is a surprise, but with KPY in the mix, it’s a chance for the 22-year-old to prove he belongs in the main event. The Classic Night vs Venomshank could steal the show, and perhaps even set up a bigger Halloween-themed match next month.
Indonesia
Yes, that’s right—Indonesia Pro Wrestling has launched. A new Instagram account has marked the promotion’s debut. SEA Wrestling has been in contact, and while it may take time before their first official event, it’s clear they’re seeking advice and building carefully. This could mean a brand-new country added to the SEA Wrestling map. Stay tuned.
