SEA Wrestling News Update – January 2, 2026
Happy New Year to all SEA Wrestling fans. We are officially back and already deep into work on SEA Wrestling Magazine Issue 7, scheduled to launch on January 31. Alongside the magazine, we are preparing a slate of new written and visual content while also taking stock of what the Southeast Asian wrestling scene could look like heading into 2026.
With that said, let’s move away from housekeeping and get into the biggest stories from across the region this week.
Xavier Patricks Appears at World Underground Wrestling Event in Tokyo
This coming Sunday, Vietnam Pro Wrestling ring announcer Xavier Patricks will be involved in a World Underground Wrestling event held at Toudoukan, widely regarded as the world’s premier professional wrestling store. The venue is run by VPW Sensei Fugo Fugo Yumeji, making this appearance particularly notable for VPW representation in Japan. No word on what the X-Pat will actually be doing but we’re sure he will be exercising his best muscle…his mouth.
Lahvin Deshadow Competes in Japan at PPP Tokyo Square Show
Lahvin Deshadow of Grapplemax is scheduled to wrestle tonight at Tokyo Square for PPP. The bout is expected to be a six-way match, adding an unpredictable element to the contest. For Deshadow, this marks another step in gaining international ring experience, continuing the quiet trend of Southeast Asian-based talent appearing on Japanese cards.
Indonesia Pro Wrestling Unveils New Training Centre and Ring
Indonesia Pro Wrestling (IDPW) has officially revealed its new training facility along with a brand-new wrestling ring. As previously stated by the promotion, IDPW is taking a grassroots approach by focusing on training local Indonesian wrestlers. Operations will be based out of Balubur, with the facility representing a foundational step toward long-term roster development rather than immediate large-scale events.
FIP World Champion August Artois Set to Return to Thailand
August Artois, the reigning FIP World Champion, has confirmed via Instagram that he will be returning to Thailand. Artois spent a significant amount of time in Southeast Asia last year, particularly working with PSE: Asia. While no specific appearances have been announced yet, his return signals potential upcoming bookings in the region.
Singapore Hosts Sold-Out One-Off Event “Keep Em Separated”
Singapore will kick off the new year with a special one-off event as Emadkatprod presents Keep Em Separated on January 3 at Room 526. The show blends mat wrestling with live music, borrowing from a format that has proven successful in the Philippines. Demand has been strong, with the event already confirmed as sold out ahead of show day.
The headline bout features Bryson Blade, Dr Gore, and a mysterious competitor known as Black Kat in what is being billed as a chaotic and violent encounter. Blade and Dr Gore have crossed paths before, but the addition of Black Kat introduces a major wildcard. Speculation continues regarding Black Kat’s connection to Mad Kat, adding further intrigue to the matchup.

Singapore Pro Wrestling Announces First Event of 2026 at Club Lunar
Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW) has officially announced its first event of 2026, and it will take place in an unconventional but high-energy setting. The promotion will bring a full-sized SPW ring to Club Lunar (Club Carnage), transforming the dance floor into a wrestling venue. The show will feature talent from both SPW and MYPW, marking another step in cross-promotional collaboration.
Already Announced Matches
A Falls Count Anywhere match has been confirmed featuring Da Butcherman, The Statement, Emman Azman, and Bryson Blade. This stipulation suggests a brawl-heavy encounter well suited to the club environment. Expect the action to extend far beyond the confines of the ring.
In women’s tag action, Alexis Lee teams with rising talent Mad Kat Karina to face Poppy Shay and Miss Selina. These competitors are no strangers to one another, but the new team alignments add a fresh dynamic to an established rivalry.
The SPW Singapore Championship will be defended in a triple threat match at Club Lunar on January 31. Champion CK Vin will put the title on the line against Emman and MYPW’s Wonderboy. With multiple challengers and no disqualifications inherent to the format, this match presents CK Vin with one of his toughest title defenses to date.
HY/OP Officially Names Faction and Declares Intent in Pinoy Wrestling
Jake De Leon, Isaiah Valencia, and Nigel San Jose have officially revealed their faction name: HYOP. Since aligning at Alamat, the trio has positioned themselves as agents of disruption within the Philippine wrestling scene. Their message is clear—HYOP intends to challenge the status quo and force change through confrontation.
Puso Wrestling Talent Featured in Shirebound Music Video
Filipino band Shirebound has featured Jake De Leon, Hotdog San Jose, and The Brawlpit in a newly released music video. The collaboration highlights the continued crossover between local music culture and Pinoy wrestling. The video is available to watch on YouTube and places Puso Wrestling talent in front of a wider, non-wrestling audience.
