SEA Wrestling News Update – 30 October 2025
It’s that spooky time of year again, and while most of the region’s Halloween-themed wrestling events have wrapped up, there’s still plenty of shocking and exciting news across Southeast Asia!
VPW Announces Vietnamania & Viva Van’s Return
Vietnam Pro Wrestling will close out the year with its biggest show to date — Vietnamania, celebrating 10 years of VPW. The event will honor the founders, fans, staff, and everyone who has supported the promotion throughout its decade-long journey.
The first confirmed competitor is Viva Van, the VPW Women’s Champion and well-known name from All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Her opponent has yet to be revealed, so stay tuned.
Fans can also expect pop-up shops, live music, and special activities, including a performance by Phoasis, a local Oasis tribute band.

Grapplemax Confirms Major Women’s Match for UNITY
INTERNATIONAL SINGLES MATCH – Divya vs Marika Kobashi
Celebrating her 10th anniversary in the ring, Marika Kobashi — one of Japan’s most exciting freelance wrestlers — brings her Asia Tour to Grapplemax UNITY, marking her Singapore debut.
Since her Grapplemax debut last year, Divya has dominated every opponent, living up to her title as “The Baddest B**** in Town.” But with Kobashi’s experience and world-traveled skillset, this could be Divya’s toughest challenge yet.
Main Event Set for SPW Los Tranquilos
SPW management has confirmed the SPW Southeast Asia Championship will be defended in a Triple Threat Match at SPW Tranquilo:
Da Butcherman (c) vs Tetsuya Naito vs The Statement.
Da Butcherman is coming off two grueling hardcore matches in October and will look to prove he can endure another war. Meanwhile, The Statement aims to rebound from a recent loss, and Naito — one of Japan’s most charismatic stars — is ready to make a huge impression on the SPW faithful.
Viva Van to Debut in Singapore
The Vietnam Pro Wrestling Women’s Champion will also appear at SPW Tranquilo on 28 November. Known as The Hellbent Vixen, Viva Van has competed globally in AEW, CMLL, TJPW, and beyond. She’s held multiple titles worldwide — including her current reign in Southeast Asia.
While her opponent hasn’t been confirmed, Alexis Lee, the reigning SPW Women’s Champion, appears to be the likely challenger.
New Matches Added to Puso Alamat
The next Puso event — likely the final card of the year — just got even bigger with two new bouts announced:
Robin Sane vs Ravena
Jomar vs Ho Ho Lun (marking Ho Ho Lun’s return to the Philippines after six years)
They join the already announced matches:
Joey Rosas & Crystal vs Nigel San Jose & Isaiah Valencia
Title vs Title: Main Maxx vs Jake De Leon
Loser Leaves PUSO Wrestling Match Announced for ALAMAT
HE COST HIM GOLD. NOW HE COULD COST HIM EVERYTHING. ⚖️
At Bakunawa, Fabio Makisig was on the verge of championship glory — until Danny Zamora made sure it slipped away. Now, the man who helped build HSSL faces the one who broke ranks and broke trust.
This isn’t just a fight for pride; it’s a war over betrayal, legacy, and the price of sabotage.
At ALAMAT, one man will stay and one will go — because this is a Loser Leaves PUSO Wrestling match.
Filipino Pro Wrestling Expands ASTIG Card
Loverboys to Compete
The flamboyant duo Chico and Mico, known as The Loverboys, are taking their signature bowties and suspenders to the big stage! After impressing at a recent [SECRET] show, the FPW Academy’s standout team aims to shake up the tag division.
Mike Madrigal Returns
2025 hasn’t been kind to The Walking Death Mike Madrigal, who’s seen more losses than wins this year. But as FPW prepares to close out the season with ASTIG, one question looms large — who will stand across the ring as Madrigal looks to end the year strong?
Joshua Ellevistah Challenges for the Metro Manila Title
It’s New School vs OG as Joshua Ellevistah challenges Ralph Imabayashi for the Metro Manila Championship.
The “Diamond of Tondo” looks to cap off a breakout rookie year with gold, but the battle-hardened Imabayashi — “The Best Pure Wrestler” — won’t give it up easily.
Will youth and speed overcome experience and fury?
SIGMA Issues Open Challenge
At FPW’s final ASTIG of the year, Legendarius the Great has declared a SIGMA Open Challenge — with his allies Jason Rex and AB3 by his side. Details remain unclear, but SIGMA rarely enters a fight without surprises.
Also confirmed for ASTIG:
Jan Evander vs Quatro (FPW Championship)
Kushida & Cali Nueva vs The Yolo Twins
Tickets remain available now.
SETUP’s Jonathan Johnson Wrestles in Japan
SETUP/IWA World Champion Jonathan Johnson recently completed a successful series of matches in Japan, including a victory at OSW Berserker Association:
Special Singles Match – OSW Dojo, Berserker Next Vol.16
Jonathan Johnson vs Shota Kofuji
Winner: Jonathan Johnson (La Magistral Cradle)
Johnson’s win over Kofuji — a 24-year-old talent with experience in Big Japan, All Japan, and HEAT-UP — marked a strong start to his Japanese tour ahead of SETUP’s A New Dawn. Despite harsh weather and local conditions, Johnson persevered, and more match results will follow soon.
He also appeared in the Halloween Rumble at Baka Gaijin 25, making it to the final four in what can only be described as a wild and bizarre spectacle. Watch it here:

Main Event Confirmed for SETUP: A Hard Day’s Night
Following Monomoth’s shocking win over Andruew Tang, the “Godfather of Singapore,” at SETUP EP.24, the new champion now faces a series of tests. His first defense takes place in Japan at Tokyo Square, followed by a Triple Threat Match at the end of November — assuming he retains the belt.
His challengers:
Dr. Gore — a SETUP co-founder and tag veteran, now eyeing singles gold. A win would make him the second SPW talent (after Da Butcherman) to hold a major title this year. Dr. Gore was previously slated for a Thai Championship match before COVID-19 cancelled it, making this long-awaited opportunity even more significant.
Koki Iwasaki — a powerhouse from Japan, former DDT 6-Man Tag Team Champion, and respected figure in the Japanese circuit. His match marks his Thai debut, where he aims to make an immediate impact by winning the title.
Bali Pro Wrestling Reveals First Main Event
Bali Pro Wrestling has announced the headline bout for its debut event on 26 July 2026:
Emman Azaman (Malaysia Pro Wrestling) vs Ho Ho Lun (Hong Kong Veteran).
Venue details will be confirmed closer to the date, but this international clash already promises to set the tone for Bali’s entrance into the regional scene.
