ROR Experience - Fast for Ever - March 1st 2025
Thanks to ROR for posting the whole show fancam style on their Instagram page I was able to watch and enjoy the entire presentation all the way from Vietnam. SEAWrestling hasn’t covered the Singapore based training school and promotion much before so this was an excellent opportunity to get a feel for what Ring or Rebirth is all about.
Like most of their shows this one emanates from the Goldpine Industrial Building in a tightly packed room. Although small I must admit I did enjoy the set up with some fans being locked behind the ring due to the width of the building.
Let’s get to the action.
Match 1: Millennials (Eurasian Dragon & 'Ariel Sniper' Nyc) vs Gen Z (Erfie & Varun Khanna)
The show kicked off with Eurasian Dragon giving out lucky draw merch to a lucky fan, setting a playful tone before the action started. Nyc dazzled early with explosive flips, trading near falls with Erfie. Khanna overpowered Dragon with hip tosses and a high splash, but a two-count kept the match alive. Dragon rallied with a takedown, but Erfie countered with a running body cross. After chaotic brawling, Khanna hit a double clothesline, only for Dragon to suplex Erfie. The Millennials sealed the win with Nyc landing a sharp running elbow on Erfie for the pin.
Winners: Millennials
A neat little grudge match pitting two ‘older’ wrestlers (I don’t like writing older being we’re all the same age) against a couple of cocky young graduates from the ROR school. Erfie could easily be a horrible little heel in the making based on this bout while Khanna has the potential to be a big brute on a bigger stage in the future.
After this match Eurasian Dragon performed his comedy. It was hard to hear for me (being a little hard of hearing) so I skipped this, sorry Dragon!
Match 2: Fast Forever Match - Eurasian Dragon vs Referee Noor
In a wild and comedic contest, Dragon steamrolled Noor, who shockingly fought back with chops and even a People's Elbow. The match turned bizarre as Noor stripped to shorts and vest, resorting to nose tweaks and eye rakes. Dragon regained control, hitting multiple groin leg drops. But Noor's antics pushed too far, leading to a disqualification. With the DQ win, Dragon was hilariously doomed to 'fast forever,' leaving the crowd roaring with laughter.
Winner (via DQ): Referee Noor
This was a funny match and it shouldn’t have been anything else. Noor did get some competitive moves in after he stripped off his ref outfit but a very fitting ending. Don’t get too hungry ED.
Match 3: Geylang Green vs Alfred (with 'New Mr Geylang' Raj as Referee)
Raj, now the self-proclaimed leader of the Geylang Syndicate, stirred the pot by refereeing his teammates' clash. Green chopped Alfred hard, but Alfred fired back with an arm drag. Green took control with stomps and a brutal backbreaker. Despite Alfred’s resilience, Green slapped on a headlock, and Raj called for the bell prematurely. The Syndicate’s bullying antics left Alfred out cold, with Raj mockingly trying to wake him up after the match.
Winner: Geylang Green
Short and entertaining use of the Syndicate henchmen. It showed me the rankings in the faction and their purpose well. I’m pretty sure Alfred won’t put up with this kind of treatment forever.
Main Event: BGJ vs Raj
Raj tried to outsmart BGJ with a handshake and a sneak attack, aided by Green’s interference. BGJ weathered the storm, chopping Raj viciously and slamming him around the ring. Raj found brief hope after BGJ hit an exposed turnbuckle, landing a DDT, but couldn’t secure the pin. The tide turned again with BGJ's full nelson slam, but Green’s distraction let Raj roll up BGJ with a handful of tights for a shocking upset. Raj fled the ring as all the wrestlers returned to bow and interact with fans, closing the show on a high note.
Winner: Raj
This means Raj will move forward in the ROR Championship Tournament. This was probably the match of the night for me as I’m a big BGJ fan. Ending was surprising and I was hoping Big Jack would win. Small tidbit was a conversation with him and CBK back last December in Vietnam where I mentioned the idea of SEA Wrestling. Their positive response to the idea gave me the push to get things going. Thanks, BGJ!
After the show all the wrestlers come out and thank the fans before hosting an intimate Q and A which was a great way to get to know them a bit more.
I really enjoyed this show from Ring of Rebirth. It didn’t drag and had some unique booking to accommodate for being in a small training school venue that really worked. Everything felt intimate but also spontaneous. This for me was a great way to present the show in such a small venue where copying the format of ‘big time wrestling’ with a full crew, announcements etc would have looked a bit strange. The fans really felt part of the show too and seemed to have a lot of fun.
