ROR Comedy Wrestling Fast 4 Ever Results
Ring of Rebirth presented Comedy Wrestling Fast 4 Ever this past Saturday night from their usual home of Goldpine Industrial Building in Singapore. Building on the recent successful shows that feature a mix of regulars, SPW and APAC wrestling talent, the event continued to build up the current storylines.
Interspersed between the matches were stand-up comedy performances which we’ll skip over as it’s difficult for me to hear on the livestream.
Match 1: Tok Bomoh Mekong vs Fariz
Fariz is a new guy that I think has been working as a referee when Alfred has taken enough punching. Fariz started strong with some nifty encounters that kept Mekong on his toes, the newcomer barely working up a sweat. But it was a counter to the spike that led to the mystic coconut.
Despite a strong start and some nifty counters, Fariz barely worked up a sweat as he countered everything. Fariz countered the spike but was put down by the magic coconut for the three in this quick encounter.
An impressive start for Fariz, he definitely has plenty to offer.
Winner: Tok Bomoh Mekong
Match 2: Fast 4 Ever – Sabro vs Spider Pura
Pura is unusual to say the least, I’m not sure if this is a one-off gimmick or something we’ll continue to see from this off but familiar masked man.
The two ended up having a surprisingly grounded match going hold for hold in a variety of different positions (careful how I word that). In the end Pura gets cocky, charges Sabro who ducks, rolls through and hits the single-leg Boston crab for the tap out.
After the match the Spider assaults Alfred.
I do enjoy Sabro matches, he is so loud and cocky which makes him stand out over other masked men.
Winner: Sabro
Fasting Forever: Spider Pura
Match 3: Eurasian Dragon vs Raga Ngadai and Tobias Frost
After more comedy, Tobias Frost comes out to introduce Raga Ngadai. Dragon comes out shortly after and insists it becomes a 2 on 1 match as Frost is now an in-ring competitor in APAC. The ref agrees and Frost quickly strips down to shorts and T-shirt, no more Malaysian Mercury.
Raga and Dragon size each other up through a series of chain holds and power moves in a dramatic display whereas Frost, ever the coward, tries to avoid any physical involvement. Dragon stays fired up even after a ref bump but still can't take the muscleman down. Then Alfred gets beaten down too by both the Malaysians.
Dragon hits a German (great name for a children’s book) but the ref is still down. Then his piledriver is stopped by an eye rake from Frost and a huge one-arm slam from Ngadai gets the pin.
Good match, best of the night. Dragon’s experience keeps bringing the best out of Ngadai and they should put this match on in APAC as well.
Winner: Raga Ngadai and Tobias Frost
Bonus Match: ROR Championship – Erfie Blackheart vs Sayn RH
Sayn RH comes out to shout at fans for saying he looks like Tok Bomoh Mekong. It doesn’t take long for the champ to come out.
Despite an aggressive start from Sayn, pounding on Erfie, it’s a quick leap into the corner and the jumping DDT to get the three in a fast shocker.
Winner: Erfie Blackheart to retain
Following the usual Q+A, Dragon decides it’s bonus match time and he sets up a six-man by picking teams. He picks Sayn and Sabro while Erfie goes with my enemy’s enemy is my friend and picks Raga Ngadai and Frost.
It’s an all-out, action-packed brawl of a match that sees everyone popped in the corner including the ref for a big body splash from Dragon. But quickly Erfie’s team wins, then Ngadai gets a huge slam on Sayn.
I enjoyed this fluidity to the booking. I don’t know any other promotion that has this casualness to it like ROR and it’s a total breath of fresh air. Once again this was a fun slice of wrestling for a Saturday night.
