PUSO WRESTLING: KARERA — FULL SHOW PREVIEW

Sunday, July 7th | The Brawlpit, Metro Manila

It might feel like Dakila just wrapped up inside the chaos of the Brawlpit, but here we are again—PUSO Wrestling is back, and this Sunday’s Karera marks the promotion’s second fan-attended show in the arena era.

The name says it all. This isn’t just another event—it’s a checkpoint in a fast-moving race for respect, position, and purpose. Seven matches are locked in, and each one is loaded with meaning. Some are about proving you belong. Others are about rising up the rankings. And one is about being the face of an entire scene.

Let’s take a look at the seven exciting matches.

White Shirt in Action

White Shirt has quietly become one of the most talked-about new faces in the PUSO locker room. Once seen as a novelty or wildcard, his recent performances—especially his victory alongside Rosas and Joya—have added weight to the hype.

But this Sunday, things get unpredictable. His opponent hasn’t been named. That could mean a surprise debut. It could mean a returning veteran. It could mean something entirely unexpected. For a masked man with a growing following but still something to prove, this match might either cement his momentum or knock him right back to square one.

No1 Contenders Gauntlet - Danny Zamora vs Nigel San Jose vs Jomar vs Fabio Makisig vs Crystal

If you’ve followed PUSO Wrestling from the beginning, you know they do gauntlet matches differently. Past showdowns like those at Heart to Heart and Pusong Pinoy weren’t just multi-man matches—they were epics. And this Sunday’s installment carries even higher stakes: the winner becomes the top contender for the PUSO Pusong Pinoy Championship.

Here’s a quick look at the five wrestlers vying for that shot:

Danny Zamora: A name that still resonates from the Manila Wrestling Federation days, but has the fire dimmed since then? Is Karera the night he steps back into the spotlight and reclaims a piece of what he once had?

Nigel San Jose: He may have stumbled at Pusong Pinoy, but his performance at Livestream VI—leading his team to a convincing win over the Super Friends—showed exactly what he’s capable of. Consistent and deadly, Nigel might be the sleeper pick here.

Jomar: Few men in the scene are as physically dominant—or emotionally volatile. Ostracized and angry, Jomar is convinced he doesn’t need anyone else to succeed. And maybe he doesn’t. But can he channel that rage into results, especially in a match where order and endurance matter?

Fabio Makisig: A martial arts specialist and former MWF Champion, Makisig’s skill and confidence are undeniable. But what’s glaring is that he’s never had a shot at the PUSO title. That fact alone might give him an edge. The chip on his shoulder is very real.

Crystal: The trailblazer. The traveler. The technician. Crystal has done it all—from Manila to Malaysia to Japan—and still fights like she has something to prove. She’s not just the first woman in Pinoy wrestling history; she’s still one of the very best in Southeast Asia. Count her out at your own risk.

In matches like these, the order of entry can be everything. A late entry could mean a quick route to victory. But if Crystal or Makisig enter early and find their rhythm, they could run the table. One mistake, one flash pin, one missed cue—and everything changes.

Super Friends (El Katipunero & Patricia Ligaia) VS Ken Cifer & A Trainee of his choosing.

The Super Friends have always walked their own path. El Katipunero and Patricia Ligaya—alongside their ever-enthusiastic friend Super P—represent the bright, optimistic side of wrestling. But at Livestream VI, that positivity ran into a wall when they teamed with a cocky trainee, Elmo, and suffered a loss due in part to his antics.

Ken Cifer took notice. The representative of the underground, Cifer is now choosing one of the Brawlpit’s trainees to be his new protégé. His goal? Prove that darkness and discipline create better wrestlers than hope and hugs.

Cifer’s partner remains unannounced, but whoever steps up will be making their main roster debut under the banner of a man who rejects everything the Super Friends stand for. For Ligaya and Katipunero, this isn’t just a tag match. It’s a chance to reaffirm their way of doing things—and maybe protect a newcomer from going down the wrong path.

Otaku Alien VS Bahay Ng Liwanag

If you're craving heavy-hitting, high-stakes tag team action, look no further. This match pits two of the most imposing units in PUSO against each other in a collision that could change the hierarchy overnight.

Otaku Alien’s pairing of Hakai Mateo and Alien Friend has shown surprising chemistry in recent matches, including a strong showing against Sane and Makisig. But they face perhaps their toughest challenge yet in the form of Bahay ng Liwanag.

Led by Aaron Liwanag—fresh off a WUW Tag Title run—and backed by the intense Kapatid na Solomon, Bahay ng Liwanag have momentum, purpose, and the strength to match. This clash will test who’s truly ready to rise to the top of the tag division—and who might fall back into the shadows.

Setup 24/7 Championship - Jake De Leon (C) Vs Isaiah Valencia

What happened to Jake De Leon?

Once the pride of the Philippine wrestling scene, JDL has embraced arrogance and venom since aligning with Real Global Threat. His contempt for fans, peers, and even the country he once proudly represented has become his new identity—and the Setup 24/7 Championship his personal platform.

But drama follows the champ wherever he goes. Accusing Valencia for not being man enough to respond directly to the face to face challenge, JDL has fired insult after insult at Isaiah who in reality was simply the victim of poor timing by Puso officials who released the announcement before a response could be made.

Here’s the problem. JDL’s outrage over Valencia’s lack of a public reply to the challenge feels more like manufactured drama than genuine disrespect. Still, the tension is real now.

JDL wants to punish Valencia for the "disrespect." Valencia wants to shut JDL up and reclaim some integrity for the 24/7 title. The stakes are more than just a belt—they’re about what the belt now represents.

HSSL VS MSG — Joya & Joey Rosas VS Chelsea Marie & Ravena

We said it after Livestream VI: we needed more Joya vs Chelsea Marie. Their last encounter barely scratched the surface of what’s been brewing—and now, the gloves are off.

For months, these two women have been circling each other with increasing animosity. Chelsea Marie, self-proclaimed glamour queen of MSG, has never hidden her disdain for Joya—mocking her strength, her look, even her place in the company. But behind the glitz and venom is a woman dead set on proving she belongs at the top, no matter who she steps over to get there.

Joya, on the other hand, has never been one for words. She lets her power do the talking—and lately, it’s been screaming. One of the most physically dominant wrestlers in PUSO Wrestling, she’s earned her place through grit, discipline, and pure fight. But Chelsea’s constant undermining has struck a nerve, and now it’s personal.

Backing them are two loyal allies—Joey Rosas, the unshakeable partner of Joya from HSSL, and Ravena, Chelsea’s MSG counterpart and muscle. These two know the score. They’re not here for show. They’re here to finish what their partners started.

This match isn’t about points or rankings. It’s about pride. About proving whose vision of wrestling has a place in PUSO. For Chelsea, it’s about glitter, status, and control. For Joya, it’s about respect—and if she has to run through Chelsea to get it, so be it.

One thing’s certain: this match won’t end with a handshake.

MAIN EVENT: Pusong Pinoy Championship: Main Maxx (c) vs Robin Sane

Pillar vs Pillar. Champion vs Champion. No distractions. No excuses.

The past meets the present this Sunday in a main event that could redefine the future of Filipino wrestling.

On one side is Main Maxx—PUSO’s inaugural champion, and the iron spine of the promotion’s new era. Since capturing the title, Maxx has stood tall against every threat thrown his way, whether from within the Philippines or across Southeast Asia. His reign has been built on toughness, discipline, and clarity of purpose. For Maxx, this isn’t about flash—it’s about legacy.

On the other side stands a man who knows legacy—because he helped build it.

Robin Sane is a name etched into the foundations of modern Philippine wrestling. The original MWF Champion. The ‘Fastest Pinoy Wrestler.’ The man who’s launched himself off ring posts, battled legends, and created unforgettable moments. But in his own words, he hasn’t always had his eyes on the prize. He’s loved the art, the thrill, the performance—but somewhere along the way, the hunger for gold faded.

Now, it’s back.

For Sane, this isn’t just about winning another title—it’s about proving he still can. Proving that the heart that carried him to the top in 2018 still beats with the same fire. That he’s more than a highlight reel. That he’s still the guy.

For Maxx, this is personal too. He’s worked for years to step out of the shadows of his generation’s stars—to be the guy. And now, the spotlight turns toward one of those stars. If Sane wins, it rewrites Maxx’s reign. If Maxx wins, it closes a chapter that began long before PUSO was even born.

They know each other well. They’ve crossed paths in the past. But never like this. Not with the PUSO Championship on the line. Not with their reputations, their eras, and their identities colliding so directly.

This is the kind of match you look back on and say, that was a turning point. One man pushes forward. The other has to ask what comes next.

There will be no Real Global Threat. No surprise interference. No excuses. Just two of the most important wrestlers in the country stepping into the Brawlpit… and finding out who really leads Philippine wrestling into its next chapter.

Karera isn’t just another date on the calendar. It’s a snapshot of where Pinoy wrestling stands right now—young wrestlers trying to break through, veterans recalibrating their place in the scene, champions defending more than just belts, and rivalries that go deeper than wins and losses.

For some, this event could mark a new beginning. For others, a reckoning. What’s clear is that everyone stepping into the Brawlpit this Sunday has something to prove—to the fans, to their opponents, and most of all, to themselves.

Not everything will be settled at Karera. Not every question will be answered. But every match matters. Every moment adds to the bigger picture of what PUSO Wrestling is building—and where it’s going next.

Let’s see who’s ready to move forward.

See you Sunday. Tickets available here
