Pinoy Wrestling Weekend Overview

Last weekend, Singapore gave fans a full weekend of action between SPW Friday night, Grapplemax Saturday and Sunday daytimes, and ROR on Sunday evening. Not to be outdone, our friends in Manila have organised a series of shows to keep Pinoy wrestling enthusiasts occupied all weekend long.

Puso - Pinoy Wrestling Night 2

Puso runs its first open-to-the-public Brawlpit show this Saturday night when they present Pinoy Wrestling Night 2. Things to be known about this show is that it will be run under “pay what you can” rules but will also be standing room only.

Announced so far are two top-tier Pinoy wrestling matchups:

Main Maxx & Romeo vs. Robin Sane & Fabio Makisig

After some time, Main Maxx will partner up once again with his friend Romeo to take on two top-tier performers in the Philippines. The stipulation here is that if Sane or Makisig get the pinfall, they become number one contender to the Puso Championship.

SETUP 24/7 Championship – Jake De Leon (c) vs. Nigel San Jose

Following the turn of events last Saturday at SETUP: Fallen Kingdom, now Real Global Threat member Jake De Leon will put his title on the line against fellow countryman Nigel San Jose. It is also expected that Jake may provide some more context on his recent change of heart.

Puso have also announced four other matches to occur, but these will be announced on the night.

Filipino Pro Wrestling – Secret Show 3

Sunday afternoon sees FPW present another of their Secret Shows. Don’t worry, everyone—they’re not really secret but just a great label for their non-TV taping shows that occur at their HQ. The last two events have been really well received, and this time they have two top matches already announced.

Legendarius the Great vs. Robynn

In this intergender match, Legendarius gets the chance to prove if he has what it takes to compete with one of the top Pinay wrestlers in the country who isn’t afraid of tying up with the men. Can this new rising star Legendarius keep up the streak, or is he going to be exposed as the fraud some suggest he could be?

Mike Madrigal vs. Proximo

The man in the mask steps up to take on one of the top main eventers on the Pinoy scene. Considering the championship needs a new holder, it might be a great opportunity for one of these men to start making claims.

Puso Wrestling – Headlocks & Headbangs

At Sari Sari Sunday evening, the pro wrestling triple threat comes to an end with a special mat show featuring a full card of Puso Wrestling’s finest.

Announced for the show are:

• Super Friends (El Katipunero & Patricia Ligaia) vs. Ramona & White Shirt

• Ravena vs. Jake De Leon vs. Danny Zamora

• Solomon Liwanag vs. Hakai Mateo

• Isaiah Valencia vs. Crystal

• Appearances by Main Maxx and Fabio Makisig

The show will also feature musical acts, including Super P and the Space Bandits.
