Grapplemax Studios to move from the Ubi Dome
Announced on Monday by founder Greg Ho, Grapplemax will be leaving their home for the past three years and moving the studio to an unannounced location in Singapore.
The promotion first presented a wrestling card from the venue on 26th August 2023 with Rolling — a show that looks very bare bones in production compared to how the studio would be set up in later years. In the main event, Big Dave would retain the Openweight Championship over Aussie Aussie Aussie's YC.
The final main event of a full Grapplemax-branded event was the 8th in the Amplify series, which fittingly saw Hotshot — who rose to main event status during this era — defeat his mentor Endboss GREGORY to retain the championship.
As well as being the home of Grapplemax's Amplify series, the studio also became the home of NWE — the first step for many trainees on their route to the main roster, including DEGEN:Z, Simon Siah, and many more.
As well as the Amplify series and NWE events, Grapplemax Studios played host to other major cards, including the 7th Anniversary where Hotshot took the title from Big Dave, and the 2024 and 2025 Singapore leg of Causeway Jam — a competition show pitting Grapplemax's best against MYPW's.
And of course, how can we forget the memorable H4PW shows!
But perhaps the Ubi Dome legacy won't be in its ticketed events but in what went on behind the closed doors of training sessions. Although I've never had the chance to step foot in the space, regrettably (which probably means I shouldn't be writing this), the friendship, teamwork, and camaraderie that has been built in that space pours out every time you see Grapplemax's roster, every time you read a report from a fan, every time you speak to the founders of the company. In a world of challenges, the Ubi Dome succeeded in not just being a place to learn how to wrestle well, but a place where so much positivity was fostered. For that and everything else, we say thank you.
The promotion will run an impromptu goodbye party entitled Rollout this Saturday from 3–5 PM. Contact Grapplemax for more details.
