Grapplemax Fightclub 5: Absolute Cinema Results
On May 24th, Grapplemax unveiled one of its most distinctive and groundbreaking events—redefining how pro wrestling can be experienced.
Gone were the typical surrounds of a wrestling venue—no ropes, no turnbuckles, no fans encircling the ring. In their place, The Redrum Room at The Projector Cinema hosted a cinematic, mat-based wrestling show before a packed house—perhaps Grapplemax’s largest crowd yet.
The Fight Club series harkens back to Grapplemax’s early days, when all they had was a mat—and a dream. This year’s twist? Cinematic interludes interwoven before, during, and after matches—blurring the line between sport and spectacle.
Results from the event:
SPD def. Crypto Bro LK
In a chaotic clash that spilled into the crowd and down the cinema’s corridors, Crypto Bro LK landed a vicious elbow to SPD’s spine. But in the end, SPD delivered a picture-perfect piledriver to seal the pinfall victory.
Jullian Creed def. Kelvin Lang
This intense encounter saw Kelvin Lang wield a baseball bat to assault Creed, while Creed used audience chairs to trap and pummel his opponent. As Lang gained the upper hand, the lights suddenly cut out. A cinematic screen flickered to life, announcing the dramatic return of Showtime and Prabz to thunderous applause. After quelling tensions between the Showtime Inc. brothers, the duo turned their attention to Kelvin Lang, laying him out and paving the way for Creed to claim the win.
Sage Matthews def. Hotshot & Jinn Kai
In a lightning-fast three-way showdown, “Scumdawg” Sage Matthews stole the win. All three unleashed their signature arsenals, with the railings around the mat doubling as weapons. After Hotshot landed a devastating cutter, Matthews soared in from out of frame with a swanton bomb—breaking the cover and stealing the pin on Jinn Kai himself.
Ban Sachak def. Big Dave
In an all-out war of a chairs match, Ban Sachak triumphed over Big Dave. Chairs weren’t just weapons—they were launchpads, shields, and crash zones for a series of brutal suplexes. The climax saw Big Dave attempt to slam Sachak through a cluster of chairs, but the move was reversed, sending Dave crashing through his own setup and giving Sachak the win.
Aussie Aussie Aussie def. Ships Ahoy to win the Grapplemax Tag Team Championship
In the main event, Aussie Aussie Aussie reclaimed the Grapplemax Tag Team Titles in a hard-fought battle against Ships Ahoy. The match featured a creative array of venue-specific double-team sequences. Outside the mat, Ships Ahoy’s crewmates lurked in the shadows, orchestrating backstage ambushes and helping Coldheart & Xitin evade danger. But in the climax, Shawn drove Sarah Coldheart through a table and scored the decisive pin.
Fightclub 5 will likely go down as a massive success for Grapplemax. Scores were settled, returning faces made an impact, and the stage is now set for emerging talent to shine in the shows scheduled for June, July, and August.
Be sure to head to Grapplemax's socials for photos and footage from all their shows.
