Grapplemax Fight Club 5: Absolute Cinema Preview

This weekend sees just one show being presented in Southeast Asia, but let’s not discredit what could be the most unique show on the planet in 2025.

Grapplemax brings Fight Club 5 to Singapore this Saturday, and as with last year, it’s coming to you from The Projector Theatre. So what’s so special about it, I hear you ask? Well, unlike last year—where the action was presented in the beautiful lobby exhibition space—Grapplemax will be using the main cinema room itself for a unique cinematic experience, never seen before in Singapore and perhaps never seen before worldwide.

If you’d like to hear more about the concept, we suggest checking out Kick to the Gut Podcast’s interview with Grapplemax founder Gregg. At Fight Club, the ring might be missing, but the night will see grudges settled and disputes finalised in one of the most intense nights in the history of pro wrestling in Singapore.

Crypto Bro LK vs. SPD

The conflict between Crypto Bro LK and SPD is far from over. In their showdown at Amplify 7, the feud wasn’t settled—it was merely intensified when LK used the ring ropes to score a tainted win.

SPD is sick of the monkey on his back that is LK, who has been trying to trick him out of his passions, send people like Kal to assault him, and taunt the talented rising star. SPD feels he needs to beat the Crypto Bro at Fight Club to prove he isn’t the joke his opponent wants the fans to see him as. It’s all or nothing for SPD.

Crypto Bro LK, on the other hand, sees things differently. He feels that SPD is embarrassing himself and Grapplemax with the way he presents himself. His belief is that SPD is not promoting a positive image for young fans to follow—that SPD promotes a poverty mindset, where it’s okay to squander life savings on collectibles. Because of that, SPD needs to be put down and ushered out the back door.

Now, they will face off in no-holds-barred, no-ring action at Fight Club. There’ll be no happy ending for one of these men when they come to blows for what could be the final time this Saturday.

Kelvin Lang vs. Jullian Creed

The animosity between former best friends and Showtime Inc. partners Kelvin Lang and Jullian Creed has escalated since Lang's return from Scotland. While fans appreciate Lang's reformed, honest approach in the ring, Creed is infuriated by what he perceives as Lang abandoning the principles and the very group, Showtime Inc., that facilitated his rise to the Grapplemax main roster.

This tension culminated at Amplify 7 when Creed attacked Lang, costing him a match. Their feud now comes to a head at Fight Club. Will they resolve their differences under the spotlight, or is this just the first chapter in an ongoing rivalry? The answers will unfold on Saturday.

Chairs Match: Ban Sachak vs. BIG DAVE

At Causeway Jam, Ban Sachak made his triumphant return to Grapplemax, helping Hotshot pick up the win over Wonderboy in the main event. However, at the next show—Amplify 7—Big Dave returned to far less acclaim when he assaulted Sachak with a steel chair.

A former tag team partner of Ban, Big Dave feels aggravated by his protégé’s attitude. He sees his old mentee as ungrateful, cocky, and disingenuous. Dave believes that Ban has forgotten who brought him to the top—and now needs to be taught a lesson.

At Amplify 7, a victorious Ban Sachak was brutally ambushed by a hooded figure. Wielding a steel chair, the attacker revealed himself to be none other than the returning BIG DAVE—his former tag team partner and mentor!

At Fight Club 5: Absolute Cinema, the two will clash in the first-ever Chairs Match in Grapplemax history. Will Ban Sachak prove to everyone that he has outgrown his mentor? Who will take the director’s chair—and smash it over the other’s back?

Triple Threat Match: Jinn Kai vs. Hotshot vs. "Scum Dawg" Sage Matthews

Hotshot steps into one of the biggest challenges of his record-breaking title reign. Representing Singapore’s wrestling elite, he’s out to prove he can overcome not one, but two fierce challengers.

Striker Jinn Kai sees this Triple Threat match as his golden opportunity, targeting Hotshot’s vulnerabilities while dismissing the third man as little more than a mutt. But debuting in Singapore, “Scum Dawg” Sage Matthews may just turn the chaos to his favor—unpredictable, battle-hardened, and dangerous, even if he’s never touched a mat before.

Grapplemax Tag Team Championship Match:
Aussie Aussie Aussie vs. Ships Ahoy ©

In the main event, the tag team championship will be decided once and for all. Following an indecisive finish—when Aussie Aussie Aussie were purposefully disqualified at Amplify 7—Grapplemax officials have granted them another opportunity. However, this won’t be just any normal match: this is a Pirate Plunder Match.

Exactly what a Pirate Plunder Match entails, nobody knows—yet Ships Ahoy seems confident they can secure the victory. Meanwhile, Shawn and YC appear desperate to do whatever it takes to regain the championships, even if it means running head-on into the mind games of the cocky champions.

Whatever the match turns out to be, it’s one not to be missed—and Endboss Gregory has heavily touted it as a true cinematic experience. It remains to be seen whether it’s Ships Ahoy or Aussie Aussie Aussie who get to say “cut” on the night’s proceedings.
