Grapplemax Amplify 8 Preview
Grapplemax is back with their second show of the month, Amplify 8. This event is the penultimate stop before the huge 9th anniversary show, Unity, in November, and could mark a major turning point in the company’s history as the champion faces the founder.

The Recap
At Pro Wrestling Festival 2, Jullian Creed made history by becoming the first-ever Rising Champion. He has defended the title once since then, beating Devan at Slam & Savour while continuing to carry himself with his usual modesty. The summer months have been less kind to others on the roster, with Kelvin, Big Dave, and Ban Sachak all taking high-profile defeats. Big Dave did manage to team with Shawn Phang to score a win over Devan and Nathaniel, though he has made it clear he believes the pair still need to be taught a little more respect. Meanwhile, at NWE Showcase 3, Sage Matthews used underhanded tactics to snatch a victory against Ban Sachak and Nish.
The spotlight has also been on Endboss Gregory. After assaulting him at Pro Wrestling Festival 2, Gregory delivered a dynamic dropkick to Hotshot at Slam & Savour and went on to face Kelvin Lang at NWE Showcase 3. It was there that his return match was confirmed, along with a major announcement: Gregory would receive a championship opportunity, and the winner of his title match at Amplify 8 would go on to headline Unity against SPD.

Amplify 8- The Matches
NWE Showcase Match: Justin vs Tydus
Amplify 8 will open with an NWE Showcase bout featuring Justin and Tydus, two recent graduates of the NWE Academy. Although they have trained alongside each other for years, this will be their first time meeting in a singles match. It’s a chance for both men to make an early statement as they look to establish themselves as the next generation of talent coming through the academy system.

Two-on-One Handicap Match: BIG DAVE vs Devan & Nathaniel
Devan and Nathaniel step into their biggest test yet since being called up from the NWE Showcase, taking on former Openweight Champion Big Dave in a handicap match. The duo specifically requested this bout after losing to Dave at Showcase 3, eager to prove that the result was no fluke. For his part, Dave believes they’ve been hiding behind excuses and is determined to give them the tough lesson they’ve asked for.

Grapplemax Rising Championship Number One Contenders Match: Ban Sachak vs "Scum Dawg" Sage Matthews
Ban Sachak will get a chance at redemption when he faces “Scum Dawg” Sage Matthews in a Rising Championship number one contender’s match. Their last meeting at NWE Showcase 4 ended in controversy, with Matthews using the ropes to steal a victory. Now, with a title shot on the line, Ban has the opportunity to turn around a difficult summer and push himself back into contention before Unity. Matthews, meanwhile, will be looking to prove that his earlier win was no accident and secure his place as the next challenger for the Rising Championship.

International Singles Match: "The Hitman" Jullian Creed vs Thommy Ardhi (MYPW)
Jullian Creed’s run as the inaugural Rising Champion has made him one of the most consistent performers in Grapplemax, and his composure inside the ring has often given him the edge over younger or flashier opponents. Yet one lingering question mark remains over his career: his struggles against wrestlers from Malaysia Pro Wrestling. That makes his clash with Thommy Ardhi especially significant. Ardhi, known as the “Fightmonger,” hasn’t wrestled in Singapore for almost two years, and he returns with plenty to prove. For him, this match is a chance to re-establish himself against one of the most respected names in the scene. For Creed, it’s an opportunity to put to rest the only real blemish on his record and assert his dominance not just within Grapplemax, but across the wider Southeast Asian wrestling landscape.

International Tag Team Match: Heaven & Earth (Larhvin Deshadow & Simon Siah) vs Bobby Sinaga & "Soldier Boy" Nik Adam (MYPW)
Heaven & Earth, the pairing of Larhvin Deshadow and Simon Siah, have become fixtures of the Grapplemax tag division over the past year. Their 2025 campaign, however, began on a sour note with a loss to MYPW’s LOVE&FRDM, a result that still lingers as motivation. At Amplify 8, they have the chance to even the score when they take on another set of Malaysian representatives in Bobby Sinaga and “Soldier Boy” Nik Adam.
Sinaga and Adam are among the most talked-about prospects in MYPW, drawing attention for their intensity, power, and resilience. For Heaven & Earth, this match is about proving that experience and chemistry can overcome raw potential. For the newcomers, it’s the chance to make a breakthrough on a bigger stage. With all four men eager to climb the ladder, this contest could shape the next wave of contenders in Grapplemax’s tag division.

Tag Team Match: Ships Ahoy (Sarah Coldheart & "The Velvet Voyager" Xtian) vs Divya & Kelvin Lang
Ships Ahoy make their long-awaited return to Grapplemax’s tag division, reuniting for the first time since Fight Club 5. Sarah Coldheart and “The Velvet Voyager” Xtian, Southeast Asia’s favourite pirates, step back into the ring together to renew their partnership against two very familiar faces.
Their opponents, Divya and Kelvin Lang, have spent the past two years more often as rivals than allies, but for this match they find themselves on the same side. Whether their uneasy alliance can hold up against the established chemistry of Ships Ahoy remains to be seen. For Coldheart and Xtian, a victory would mark a strong statement that they are once again serious contenders for the tag titles.

Grapplemax Openweight Championship: Endboss GREGORY vs Hotshot (Champion)
The main event of Amplify 8 sees Hotshot defend the Grapplemax Openweight Championship against his former mentor, Endboss Gregory. Throughout his career, Hotshot has tested himself against some of the region’s best, but he has never faced the man who first guided him in the ring. That dynamic alone makes this championship clash one of the most significant in Grapplemax history.
Gregory, the CEO of Grapplemax, has stepped out of hiatus with the clear goal of reclaiming the company’s top prize. What began as a tense rivalry between teacher and protégé has escalated into a personal battle, and with both men carrying months of frustration into this contest, it threatens to boil over into something far more violent than a typical title defence. The outcome will not only decide the champion going into Unity, but could also reshape Grapplemax’s future.
Amplify 8 is more than just a stacked card — it’s a turning point on the road to Unity. With new talent emerging, international names returning, and long-standing rivalries coming to a head, the results of this show will shape the matches and stories that define Grapplemax’s 9th anniversary. Whether it’s the future of the Rising Championship, the direction of the tag division, or the high-stakes battle between champion and founder, Amplify 8 sets the stage for one of the most important moments in company history.
Amplify 8 is our most loaded card ever, with massive repercussions heading into UNITY - Grapplemax 9th Anniversary on 22 November at Foochow Building.
