DEXCON Wrestling Weekend Preview – Baka Gaijin & Friends at Social House
This weekend is going to be wild. DEXCON Wrestling are rolling out not one, not two, but three shows across three different venues. Each one has its own flavor, so SEA Wrestling is breaking it down show by show.
First up, this Friday: Baka Gaijin & Friends, live from Social House in Circuit Makati, Quezon City.
A Music Festival That Turns Into Wrestling
This one’s got a different vibe. From 6:15 to 8:45 PM you’re basically at a live gig — bands like Shiftheads, Super P and the Space Bandits, The Mox, and Shirebound will set the tone before the mats get rolled out. Then, when the music fades, the fights begin.
Three Way Match – Nigel San Jose vs. Saint John Martin vs. Danny Zamora
If you asked someone to name three tough-as-nails wrestlers from the Philippines, these names would come up pretty quick. Saint John Martin, as a flag-bearer for the Underground, knows how to twist people into knots. Nigel San Jose just seems to know about 100 different ways to hurt you. And then there’s Danny Zamora — he’s looked like a new man this year. The first half of 2024 wasn’t kind to him, but he’s come back with more aggression and way less mercy. Put these three in a three-way with no ropes around them, and things could get nasty.
International Tag – Crystal & Robin Sane vs. Patricia Ligala & Dr. Gore
This one’s got “odd couple” energy all over it. Crystal has made it clear she thinks Robin Sane isn’t on her level, and honestly, she might not even care about this match at all. Meanwhile, Sane has been trying to connect with Patricia Ligala, who’s looking more frustrated by the day. Add in Dr. Gore — and you know the Doctor’s not here for check-ups, he’s here to inflict some pain — and you’ve got a strange but dangerous mix.
Crystal might not take her opponents seriously, but Ligala and Gore as a unit shouldn’t be slept on. This could end up stealing the night.
Fabio Makisig vs. El Katipunero
This one’s flown a bit under the radar, but it could be quietly huge. Fabio Makisig is stepping up against El Katipunero, who’s had a strong year and even tested himself against Main Maxx at Master Clash. Maybe Fabio wants to measure himself against someone who’s already been in the ring with the champ? He’d never admit that, but you have to think it’s on his mind. This is all about skills and Filipino wrestling pride.
Main Event – Jake De Leon & Isaiah Valencia vs. Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada
Now for the big one. Jake De Leon and Isaiah Valencia — the unlikely duo now calling themselves the 2pc Chicken Boys — face off with international stars Chris Brookes and Takeshi Masada.
This is where it gets messy. After Karera, De Leon and Valencia have found common ground, but with Brookes now running with Real Global Threat, can Jake really be trusted to stick by his partner when the heat is on? Don’t forget, the RGT boys are known for fighting each other if it helps the greater good. So don’t be shocked if Brookes and De Leon lay into each other mid-match while Masada and Valencia pick up the pieces.
As DEXCON themselves put it: “With experience and chemistry on their side, Schadenfreude is ready to show Manila what a true Baka Gaijin main event looks like.”
Day 1 of DEXCON isn’t just a wrestling show — it’s music, chaos, and top-level talent all mashed together. If you’re in Manila this Friday night, this is the one you don’t want to miss.
