Mercedes Mone Vacated Apac Championship
News broke on Saturday evening that unfortunately tarnished a strong showing for the Malaysian promotion when Mercedes Mone announced that she will be vacating the Apac Women’s Championship with immediate effect.
In a post on social media, she announced that she was unable to come to terms on a future title defence and would be sending the belt back to Apac with immediate notice. Apac promoter Shaukat released a response clarifying that attempts had been made to allow Nor “Phoenix” Diana her rematch and closure on the matter however a budget appropriate solution could not be reached.
SEA Wrestling would like to thank Shaukat, Diana, Apac Wrestling and Mercedes Mone for taking the chance on creating more awareness of Malaysian and Southeast Asian wrestling over the past 6 months and look forward to finding out what comes next.
Edge of Glory Partial Results
On Saturday, Apac Wrestling presented Edge of Glory from ESI Grand Hall in Puchong Malaysia.
Shaheen won the gauntlet match to earn a championship shot against Dreamkiller Azroy
Nor “Phoenix” Diana defeated Maya Hartsteel
Akash Kaelyon & The Crescent Kid Putra Bulan defeated Razif “Fiyah” Razin and Masaru Danial
Dreamkiller Azroy retained the Apac Championship against Shaheen
Jim Smallman watches Edge of Glory
Although unable to attend in person, former Progress Wrestling owner and current WWE scout Jim Smallman watched and provided feedback for wrestlers on their performance at Edge of Glory.
