SETUP Thailand Returns This Saturday With Hellraiser

SETUP Thailand is back in action this Saturday, live from Circus Studio in Bangkok, with Hellraiser — a stacked follow-up to Absolute Mayhem roughly eight weeks ago.

Recap From Absolute Mayhem

The 24/7 Championship changed hands when Dewdy capitalised on a surprise rollup to dethrone Jake De Leon following his battle with Jonathan Johnson. In the women's division, Matcha retained her All Asian Women's Championship with a destructive win over Jeney, then turned her attention to Bad Company and St. John's Innocent — who had earned their own shot by beating Jack N' Cheese earlier in the night. Elsewhere on the card, Anont Alonzo dethroned Monomoth in credible fashion to capture his first Openweight Championship, and in the main event, Shivam set his more sinister tendencies aside to deliver a global-level showing against Vietnam Pro Wrestling's Ares, cementing his place among Southeast Asia's elite.

Pre-Show: Manuel & Mylson James vs. Admin Oak & MC Neko

Mylson James is something of a mystery — a Philippines-born competitor based in Thailand, reportedly returning after a six-year-plus absence, with persistent rumours linking him to the once-legendary masked wrestler Mr. Lucha (rumours SEA Wrestling can neither confirm nor deny). Alongside the improving but luckless Manuel, James faces an Admin Oak and MC Neko who are very much on a roll, sharpening their technique and aggression after already beating Manuel once before.

Prediction: Admin Oak pins Manuel — unless those Mylson James rumours turn out to be true, this duo is outgunned.

Special Tag Team Match: Kru Pol & Ryan Shen vs. Naga Nai & P Suachart

SETUP's beloved odd couple Nai and Suachart continue building their partnership, with Nai easing back toward the human realm alongside the thoroughly human Suachart. Across from them, Kru Pol brings his new "exchange student" Ryan Shen — a former SPW Hardcore Champion shedding his referee reputation in pursuit of legitimacy, while Pol eyes international expansion and a possible SPW title shot of his own. Nai and Suachart, fresh off a loss to Bad Company, are looking for a statement win of their own.

Prediction: Naga Nai and P Suachart by a narrow margin.

International Singles Match: Super P (Puso Wrestling) vs. Jeney

Jeney had a brutal night at Absolute Mayhem — beaten down by Matcha, then caught in a stunning altercation with SPW's BGJ. Now Super P, fresh off a standout US tour and a recent Korea appearance, makes her Thailand debut with a request to face Jeney and help lift her spirits through competition. Whether the power of friendship can actually turn things around remains to be seen — but a loss here could be devastating for Jeney's psyche.

Prediction: Super P — Jeney doesn't look to have shaken her funk enough to beat someone riding this much momentum.

IWA Japan SETUP World Tag Team Championship – Three-Way Elimination: St. John Innocent College (Kevin Weng & Pondhub) vs. Bad Company (P-Nutz & Golem Thai) vs. Matcha & Monomoth (c)

What began as a respectful challenge at Absolute Mayhem spiralled into a war of words — mostly courtesy of Matcha — leaving bad blood between all three teams and setting up this three-way title match. Champions Matcha and Monomoth remain SETUP's bright babyface standard-bearers, Kevin Weng and Pondhub bring contrasting but complementary lightning-quick styles, and veteran powerhouses P-Nutz and Golem Thai are out to prove they still belong at the top. Expect this one to steal the show on an already loaded card.

Prediction: Bad Company walk away new champions, catching both teams underestimating them.

SETUP Openweight Championship: Anont Alonzo (c) vs. Michael Su vs. Dewdy

New champion Anont Alonzo makes his first defence against rising 24/7 Champion Dewdy — fresh off shedding his old "Blick Drewz" persona — and Hong Kong's Michael Su, one of the region's best-kept secrets, who beat Alonzo's former partner P. Suachart at last year's Fallen Kingdom despite Alonzo's interference. Alonzo's title win has been framed as the start of a new era for Thai wrestling, and this match tests that narrative further. Dewdy, a SETUP veteran dating back to the Gatoh Move Thailand days who stepped away from the sport before returning and clawing his way to the 24/7 title, gets his first-ever championship opportunity here. Su, a former singles champion in China and long-reigning HKWF Tag Team Champion, serves as the litmus test for whether either Thai star is ready to stand among Asia's elite.

Prediction: Anont Alonzo retains through a tough battle, further legitimising his status as a top Southeast Asian athlete.

IWA Japan World Championship: Shivam (c) vs. Nigel San Jose

On the surface, a friendly clash between two elite competitors in aligned camps. Beneath it, something darker may be brewing. Following DEXCON Dakila 2, Real Global Threat's Jake De Leon pushed Shivam toward a match with Hy/Op's Nigel San Jose — but Shivam's attention during the recent Chris Brookes/JDL match suggested his focus may lie elsewhere. The question looms: what happens if Shivam's temper slips beyond competitive lines? The stakes here stretch well beyond the title.

Prediction: Shivam retains — and things change forever.

Hardcore Unsanctioned Anything Goes: Daisuke Sasaki vs. Jonathan Johnson

Daisuke Sasaki, one of the world's premier junior heavyweights and a former DDT Pro-Wrestling Extreme Champion (won by defeating deathmatch legend Jun Kasai, "Crazy Monkey"), makes his Thailand debut with a clear mission: brutality Thai fans haven't seen before. It's been over a year since the country's last hardcore match, making this Unsanctioned main event a statement in itself — no rules, no limits, and a guaranteed unforgettable night for Sasaki's opponent, Jonathan Johnson.

Prediction: Jonathan Johnson wins a close one, putting him back in world title contention.

Hellraiser has all the makings of one of SETUP Thailand's most important shows yet — a card that doesn't just build toward the future, it forces a reckoning with it. Anont Alonzo's title reign faces its first real test against two credible challengers, Shivam's main event carries tension that could reshape Southeast Asia's biggest factions, and a stacked three-way tag title match promises to steal the spotlight on an already loaded night. Add in Daisuke Sasaki's hardcore Thailand debut and Super P's first appearance in the country, and Hellraiser is shaping up as essential viewing for anyone following the region. Saturday can't come soon enough.
