SETUP THAILAND ASSEMBLES DREAM TEAM TO FINALLY END REAL GLOBAL THREAT
Real Global Threat has spent the better part of two years tearing through Southeast Asia's wrestling scene, picking up championships and enemies in equal measure. Now, ahead of SETUP Thailand's 15th anniversary show, the promotion has confirmed the opposition that fans have been waiting for.
Four wrestlers have been assembled to settle the score once and for all. Leading the group is "X-Rated" Jonathan Johnson, who has clashed with RGT longer than anyone, dating back to the faction's earliest days when Shivam and The Statement first turned on him. He is joined by Ares, the reigning VPW Openweight Champion out of Vietnam, Da Butcherman, one of Singapore's most physical competitors, and Carlo Cannon, who currently holds championship gold in Malaysia, Singapore and Ukraine.
According to the announcement, this is being presented as the final word on the rivalry. No half measures and no way out for either side.
The exact match format has not yet been confirmed, with representatives from both camps reportedly still working out the details. An official structure is expected to be announced soon.
Whatever shape the match takes, the stakes are significant. RGT has built its reputation by absorbing challenge after challenge and coming out on top, expanding its championship count along the way. A team built specifically to dismantle them, featuring wrestlers with legitimate pedigree across four different countries, represents one of the biggest tests the faction has faced since its formation.
The show, titled Under The Same Moon, marks SETUP Thailand's Pumi 15th Anniversary event and takes place on 29 August 2026 at The Circus Studio in Bangkok. Doors open at 5pm with the show starting at 5:30pm. Ringside seats are priced at 750 THB, with regular tickets available for 550 THB.
