SEA Wrestling - Weekend Results Roundup
Southeast Asian Wrestling had a huge weekend of shows and matches further afield by top southeast Asian professional wrestlers. Diversity and unity were fully celebrated with original concepts and matches that paired wrestlers from different (sometimes rival) promotions against or with each other.
Middle Kingdom Wrestling All Star Tour 27th and 28th March
The MKW All Star Tour made its way through Chongqing and Chengdu with a strong mix of title defenses, faction clashes, and notable title changes that reshaped the promotion’s landscape across both stops.
In Chongqing, the card was headlined by a high-stakes eight-man tag team match with multiple championships on the line. Coldray, Jason Lee, Shaheen, and The Wonderboy picked up a major victory over Benji, Ho Ho Lun, Sunny Z, and Wang Tao, a result that triggered a significant shake-up as championships changed hands coming out of the bout with Wonderboy and Coldray becoming MKW Tag Team Champions. Earlier in the night, CK Vin successfully defended the SPW Singapore Championship against He Yinsheng, continuing his run with the title. The undercard featured a variety of tag and singles action, including Crystal and Poppy Shay defeating Kitty Zhang and Radiant Rui, while Zombie Dragon secured a win over The Slam. In mixed tag team action, Syan Syan and Zhao Junjie overcame the pairing of Alexis Lee and Big Sam, adding momentum to both competitors heading into the next stop of the tour.
By the time the tour reached Chengdu, several of those developing threads continued to play out, particularly around the title scene. Zhao Junjie built on his Chongqing win with a singles victory over Big Sam, while Zombie Dragon, accompanied by Chairman Al, defeated Moria Lee to maintain his presence as a consistent singles threat. The six-person tag saw Alexis Lee, Crystal, and Poppy Shay get a measure of revenge over Radiant Rui, Syan Syan, and Xiao Jiemen, suggesting an ongoing rivalry between the two sides.
Championship changes were again a defining feature in Chengdu. Benji and Sunny Z captured the MKW Tag Team Titles from Coldray and The Wonderboy, reversing fortunes from the previous event and reasserting themselves in the tag division. Shaheen continued his strong tour performance by defeating Wang Tao to win the MKW Belt and Road Championship, marking his second major impact result across the two shows. In the main event, Ho Ho Lun retained the MKW World Championship against Jason Lee, stabilizing his position at the top after the chaotic outcome in Chongqing.
Meanwhile in Singapore….
H4PW2: Invincible
On the 28th, H4PW returned for their second concept show “Invincible” where the worlds of wrestling, fantasy, madness and pop culture collide in a wrestling show where even the wildest of the regions character’s is reborn in one of their deepest fantasies (hmm don’t take it like that).
In results from the show
Pink D (Big Dave) was in action against Prison Warden LOW (Cornelius LOW) who he defeated to earn his freedom in a handcuff match straight from the playbook of the fantastic year that was WWF 1990.
The Powerpuff Girls (Blossom (Devan Zemir) & Buttercup (Nathan X) & Bubbles (Tydus)) defeated THRICE (Black (Jinn Kai) & Red (Jinn Kai) & Pink (Jinn Kai)) (w/Amani). To clarify THRICE was Jinn Kai with a series of wigs. His valet Amani did not look enthused.
Quilan Zipwell protested that humans were not being represented in the interspecies contest and inserted himself into the battle between Tiger (Shawn Phang) and Flamingo (Fienic Rose) however the powerful Tiger would overcome his opponents.
Then in the main event Banny Invicible (Ban Sachak) returned with an army of “Invincibles” to defeat Kelvin Lang and attack him after the match. The match received actual attention from the real Tommy Invincible.
The unique parallel universe of H4PW is another grand concept from the Grapplemax team (run in association with the promotion rather than by). We’ll be featuring it in a future magazine issue.
SPW Smackdown at Soon Lee
SPW ran another worker camp show at Soon Lee on the 29th March. The show had a strong turnout and was again well received.
The show started with The Statement & Midnight Bastards coming out to cut a promo on the fans but were interrupted by Mighty Mighty. Before the heel team could attack, Mighty called out Da Butcherman and the duo won the 3 on 2 handicap match.
Jack N’ Cheese once again retained their tag team titles against the hottest couple in Singapore wrestling in Emman & MadKat Karina.
Ryan Shen defied the odds to retain his SPW Hardcore Championship against two of Southeast Asia’s most respected veterans in Dr Gore and Aiden Rex.
Top Dojo: Rise
Top Dojo ran its first show of the year Rise on Sunday 29th from The Motorway Dojo in Bangkok
The event presented a tightly focused card built around faction rivalries, with Revolution Squad, Bad Company, and Exotic KAIJU all intersecting across the night’s results and post-match developments.
The opening contest saw Jay Yuu, competing as a freelancer, secure a decisive victory over CHAYUT of Revolution Squad. Finishing the match with a C-4 at 10 minutes and 21 seconds, Jay Yuu established early momentum and positioned himself as a credible outsider presence against the established factions.
The second match introduced a “Back to Basic” penalty stipulation, adding an additional layer of restriction and storytelling. Despite the penalty working against him, Golem Thai of Bad Company managed to defeat KUMA from Exotic KAIJU with a bodyslam at 13 minutes and 56 seconds. The result reinforced Bad Company’s physical, no-frills identity, overcoming the imposed limitation to grind out a win.
A similar stipulation carried into the third bout, where P-Nutz of Bad Company faced Prince Benny of Revolution Squad under a “Back to Basic” penalty applied to P-Nutz. This time, the disadvantage proved decisive, as Prince Benny capitalized to win via PKO at 12 minutes and 21 seconds. The victory not only evened the score between the factions on the night but also elevated Benny’s standing heading into the main event narrative.
The main event saw Best Boonpa of Revolution Squad take on WASSANA of Exotic KAIJU in a special singles match that went the full 20-minute time limit, ending in a draw. The result protected both competitors while maintaining tension between the factions, with neither side able to claim definitive superiority in the headline slot.
Post-match developments added significant forward direction. Prince Benny announced that all of his future matches would effectively become championship matches, framing a personal mission to prove he is worthy of the King of Thai Wrestling title. Meanwhile, WASSANA declared an intent to settle ongoing issues with Bad Company before turning focus toward championship pursuit, signaling that the faction conflict remains central to upcoming shows.
Matcha at Grand Princess
Matcha joined a special DDT Ironman title gauntlet match at TJPW’s Grand Princess this weekend. Although she was not successful at winning the gauntlet or title. She did impress and represent women’s wrestling in Southeast Asia with her new outfit and impressive in ring abilities.
